I did the same thing on one of my computers at home. I am not going to download it if it is anything like Windows 8 though. I literally HATE Windows 8 and think it's the worst OS since they came out with Vista."If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." - George S. Patton

I've heard no complaints from a couple friends who have it but before I actually do the DL, I want them to give me an update. I'll let you know if/when it happens. While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

I've heard rumors that it is good but that it is mainly for those who have a touch screen monitor. So it made me think that it is a lot like Windows 8 without the bugs and other headaches."If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." - George S. Patton

As an IT pro who has been testing it throughout the build process, I think Windows 10 is a very good OS. It builds on the things that were good in Windows 7 and fixes the issues with Win 8 (which had some good ideas, but just was poorly executed....kinda like Vista years ago). Its fast, secure and stable - though there have been a few bugs and rough spots along the way. Every OS has its champions and detractors of course - but I have updated the vast majority of PCs in my household to 10.
Also - for those that have reserved the OS, but not gotten the download yet - you can kick it off at your convenience by going here . I personally used the media creation tool, but it's easy to select the appropriate download tool at the bottom and choose Upgrade this PC now.

Thank you very much, Alpha!
In your expert opinion do you think that Microsoft has worked out the bugs yet or should we wait a little while? I think I know the answer to this question since you've downloaded it to your PC's but I thought I'd ask anyway."If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." - George S. Patton

They have done a far FAR better job at ironing out the bugs in Win10 than with earlier incarnations of Windows. I have heard about a few scattered issues, but overall it's been a big success for Microsoft. I just saw one site saying 75 Million installs already. Wow...

By the way - I did run into one issue on my PC after installing (which was frustrating at first). There was a process called Runtime Broker that seemed to have a memory leak (it kept taking up more and more memory until my system ran poorly and I had to kill the process). It took a bit of digging to find out the source of the problem...but it's fixed now.
This seems to be a fairly common issue, though the root cause can be one of several things. For me, it was music and picture directories shared on the network. As soon as I removed them from the Photos and Music apps and pointed them to local shares only, the system began running much better.

Wow! 75 million already? That's crazy! I guess I will go for it. From you posted it sounds exactly what I thought/hoped it would be, basically a combination of what I feel is the best OS so far, Windows 7, with the best elements from Windows 8. I thought that Windows 8 was a failure but they did have some really cool features to it that I loved. Windows 10 sounds like it will be the best OS they have built to date that will more than likely be used for many, many years to come.
