Ah-h-h, i've found the Lounge where us tired (a nice way to say OLD) Dolphans can come to kick back & put our feet up!

Very surprised there aren't any replies to this thread, figured it would be jammin'! Anyway, i'll gladly be the first; i'm a huge, Huge, HUGE music fan and probably love music as much as i love my Fins (Hell, maybe more since music hasn't broken my heart & crushed my dreams repeatedly over the last several decades!)

I've probably been to close to 500 concerts in my life and still check out live music whenever possible; my very first show was 3 Dog Night back in the 70's when i was only 12 years old! I'm a HUGE Beatles fan & took a roadtrip up to Nationals Park in DC to see Paul McCartney on his last tour, freakin' absolutely AMAZING!!! Just went last month & saw 2 great shows; Def Leppard, Styx & Tesla and Kid Rock & Foreigner. I'd go to a dozen plus shows a year if more good shows made it around here to Virginia Beach. I'll be out of town next month & will unfortunately miss Earth, Wind & Fire (who i've seen before & were awesome) along with Chicago (who i've seen multiple times)

Your music is music to my ears. Those are the groups I grew up with and loved, especially the Beatles. in 2010 I took my teenage son to Las Vegas and we saw Paul McCartney at the MGM. It was a life moment. The stories he told were just incredible and he rocked his ass off for two hours solid. 5 years alter whenever I see my son he mentions that trip at some point.

I wish I could have seen some of those groups you have experienced. But man that is great music. Sounding like a fellow old dude...they just don't make it like that anymore.

That must have been a truly awesome show in Vegas (I saw the Beatles Love show at the Mirage a few years back, INCREDIBLE!); when Sir Paul played up in Washington he played for 3 hours with a 38 song setlist. Best concert that i've ever seen in my life, by far! And yes i am an elderly statesman, lol..the silver-lining to that is having grown up in the best era of rock & roll, period!!

Been to a number of Concerts but can't even begin to rival you DP. I've seen CCR, 3 Dog Night, Alabama, Larry Gatlin, Little River Band, Air Supply (wife's idea), Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Rogers, those are off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more hiding in there but senility is setting in.

Hey Finatic, there may have been an even bigger impression on your son than you mentioned. For those who don't know, he was accepted this fall to one of the most prestigious music colleges in the nation. Required a live audition which his Dad took him to, he is quite a talented young man. Finatic is just being humble.

That's cool D! I've known you like forever & didn't realize you were into alot of the same music as me..My musical taste has always been pretty diverse; my dad's tastes got me into country (especially Waylon & Willie & the boys) early which obviously evolved into southern rock (Skynyrd, Outlaws, Marshal Tucker, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet etc.). As you know i'm a HUGE fan of the Beatles & a ton of the early British Invasion rockers (The Stones, The Who, Clapton, Yardbirds, Badfinger, Led Zepp, etc. etc. etc.)

I'm also a HUGE fan of Motown (Man, i love all that old stuff, Marvin Gaye, the Spinners, Al Green, Smokey Robinson, Teptations, etc.!) Love most all the old classic rock i grew up on, and even throw quite a bit of heavy metal in there & that pretty much covers it..Oh yeah, was always a big fan of Elvis as well...

I pretty much love every group you mentioned here bud. I love all the older generation groups and love country as well. I'm not real happy with the direction country is heading in right now with the country rap sound if you know what I mean. Rap is the only music I just do not like. Hell, I'll sit through an opera before I'll sit through a rap song.

For the last couple of years, Lana Del Rey has been at the top of my playlist (and I got to see her in concert last May). She's my current favorite by far.

I love the new CD from Banks, hate The Pierces just broke up, kinda like Ellie Goulding am looking forward to the new release from Bat for Lashes. I was really into A Fine Frenzy, but their last release was just okay. Oh, and I get a big kick out of Die Antwoord......

LMAO!! I almost said the same thing last night but decided to not show my age. Like you, not one name meant anything to me. Too Funny.

Showing my age or my ignorance..but the only name i recognised in Alpha's posts was Mick Jones, the guitarist & founding member of Foreigner...
