  • belechick pathed the way!

for every other team to beat miami!
he took away the run and the short passes and made tannehill pass his way to victory and THill failed .
every team that is going to face miami is going to try to make miami pass down field!
dan campbell ,bill lazor take notice, every team will try to take the run away and put all the pressure on THill to carry the team, and he isn't up to the task.
this is a pass happy league and THill is not a qb that can pass a team to victory when needed to do so!
DF ,IMHO was right about THill ,he's a good back up but not a franchise qb!
THill can be a efficient qb if everything works his way,but if the o-line isn't the best in the league,or the running game doesn't produces,he just can't will out a win!

so it's up to bill lazor to adapt a offensive game plan that puts Thill in situations that play into his strengths.
thurs nite belechick made THill play the game mainly in situations that had him playing to his weaknesses.
bill lazor could not counter act what belechick was doing ,expect every coach they face from here on in to follow the path paved by belechick.

Belichick did what he does - he takes away your best player or two and forces you away from your strengths. Nothing that every other team doesn't try to do, it's just that they are able to do so.

We got our asses kicked by the defending SB champs on the road at their stadium. They do that to a lot of teams. Moreso, when you have multiple units failing in the game. We held them in check until the end of the 3rd qtr. We lost 2 quality starters in the game. 1 to start the game and the other near the end. If our ST unit and offense hadn't misfired so much on the night, it wouldn't have looked so bad in the end.

ST was killing us in the first with Landry stupidly fielding balls inside the 10, then Lazor giving up on the run and getting cute at times, which misfired.

I expect us to bounce back and look much sharper against the Bills and Eagles.

    YMMV.

the thing was that lazor had no counter measure that worked against what NE was doing.
that's the thing that has me worried,if the next team does what belechick did, lazor has no good counter measure. no matter what any other unit does in the game,if lazor can't counter the results will be the same!

Yeah, once we lost James on the 4th play, the tone of the offense changed. Sims had already cost us 10 yards and 1st down with a holding call. Miller got stuffed, then Albert has a false start. Tannehill converts the 1st, then Lazor got cute with the Tannehill keeper, but the OL blew assignments. Then 3rd and 8 Chandler Jones blew thru the line and dropped Tannehill for a sack on the opening drive.

2nd drive, Landry fked us by fielding the ball inside the 10 and getting dropped, then, as per Dan's presser, Pouncey snapped the damn ball on the wrong snap count and cost us the Safety.

3rd drive, more bad field position, then an illegal procedure on Cameron, then Gray dropped the 1st down... yada, yada...

No one played well on Offense, we were never in rhythm, and Lazor did us no favors abandoning the run. Lazor seems to do fine until we get behind, then he struggles. Of course, the drops, missed blocks, and negative run plays don't help.

now that's a problem, at times lazor seems good at times I have to really question some of the calls!
now if everyone performs perfectly ,I suppose those questionable calls might end up different, but just like the rest of the staff and players, you have to make those great calls or come up with that great play when the chips are down and the team needs some thing to build momentum on.
the defensive coordinator has taken over a defense that wasn't his and had to work out the kinks.
lazor has his system totally installed and seems to me should be able to call the right plays at the right time.
now I like lazor but he really hasn't proven to me that he's the one who can take a bird with a injured wing and get it flying again!

Bill Belichik is the greatest coach in the history of the game. He beats you on several levels. That's why it's so difficult to ever figure out a way to best him. Parcells wouldn't have a single Ring if Belichik was pounding and outsmarting the likes of Bill Walsh and Joe Montana, Don Shula and Dan Marino, Marv Levy and Jim Kelly, Dan Reeves and John Elway, Joe Gibbs and Joe Theismann, etc. etc. He may have provided hints of how to shut us down but nobody makes it look quite as easy as Bill does. He's a genius and Dolphins fans just need to wait him out just like the Pats had to do when we had Shula. What did we beat them, 30 straight times? The Bastard built a Shula smart team with a Dan Marino offense and a Pittsburgh Steeler defense.
