  • We are on to the draft....

With the injuries added to the embarrassment last night there won't be much left to see in 2015.

Considering what is going on with the NFL and the cheatriots...and the biggest tool fans in sports (yes, much worse than the jets or eagles)...Im starting to think I'm done with this game. I'm getting old. I don't see any signs of things ever being different than the $#*& that they are. I have enough misery in my life not to add more in the name of entertainment.

yeah, this shit'll take the wind right out of your sails...Such a roller-coaster of emotions the last few days, from whipping the Titans, demolishing the Texans and finally getting that monkey off our backs, then right when we're given the least bit of hope, having the Pats crush our hopes & dreams & remind us once again that we are who we thought we were!!! I've given my heart & soul to this team from the first day & as you said i feel like i'm getting too old for this shit..it'd be different if there was some glimmer of hope, but it just seems we'll ALWAYS be stuck in the mud spinning our wheels, while other teams (epecially those hated Patriots) continue to run circles around us!

No need to start researching for the 2016 draft. Just go back to the thread of the 2015 draft needs and read it. NOTHING has changed! CB, OL, LB, S. Of course, there are those of us who still feel we have another need at a vital position but discussing it is a very sensitive topic on this forum.

Ahhh, you must mean QB? I don't know if it's sensitive, just not our greatest need. I never read on here where anyone said the RT is an "elite" or "top 5" QB. Just somewhere in that 12 to 16 range. Where does our O Line rank? 29 to 33 range? (yes I know there are only 32 teams lol.)

I hear ya Alpha. I hadn't been posting because many on here got way to out there with Danimal, Danmetallica. And all the games at work stuff. If were going to the draft we need picks. We need to churn these quitfins. We are not 1 player away, or 2 0r 3. We also need to draft a QB high 1-2. RT looks the part but his micro processor isn't worth 1 star. You can study all you want. When the bullets fly, text books/film is toilet paper. We need a viable go to at QB. Like it or not...........Hawk

The first name I'll throw into the hat for the 2016 draft; OLB Su'a Cravens, USC. At 6'1 225 lbs. Cravens has grown from a 210 lb. freshman Safety taking on Wide Receivers to a 225 lb. OLB big enough and strong enough to handle any NFL TE. The Dolphins have to find a LB that can make plays on the ball and help get this defense off the field on 3rd downs. Jenkins has speed and agility but Cravens plays the ball like a (good) CB. I was not for drafting Shaq Thompson last year but we sure could have used his coverage skills in that LB zone. Is Zach Vigil for real? He's still very raw and we only saw him when this defense was playing going backwards unlike the way he played at Utah State. So it is understandable to say this team needs to worry about MLB before we target an OLB. Obviously Notre Dame MLB Jaylon Smith is the kind of tough, talented, fiery guy the Dolphins could certainly use to transform this defense into a force.

Lots of undersized linebackers and edge rushers in this upcoming draft. Also, 3-4 ends and hybrid guys... I'd love to land Jaylon Smith. Damned if we don't need a stone cold killer at MLB. I've wanted an ILB at the top of the draft of for the past 3 years. Jaylon Smith would be ideal, but mostly likely he's gone before we pick. Same with CB Vernon Hargreaves or S, Jalen Ramsey.

I'd love to see several of Clemson's defense here as well. Mackenzie Alexander at CB. Shaq Lawson at RDE. Jayron Kearse at S. possibly Ben Boulware (who has some Zach Thomas in him) at ILB somewhere later in the draft. Lawson was a wrecking ball against ND.

If we don't go DE in the 1st, Shilique Calhoun would be a good pickup in the 2nd, though I expect us to focus on getting OL help either in the 2nd or 3rd round.

For pass rushers/DEs, I think I'd probably stack them in the current order of:

            - Nkemdiche
            - Lawson
            - Nassib
            - Oakman
            - Ogbah
            - Bullard
            - Calhoun

Nkendiche is gone before we pick. I think Lawson and Ogbah would be good picks if we go pass rusher, which we're just about forced to at this point with Wake's injury and the lack of other viable pass rushers on the roster.

A LB I am liking a lot is Tyler Matakevich out of Temple. If there is ever a guy that reminds me of Zach Thomas Matakevich is the guy. Smallish, but physical as hell. Great instincts and an elite first step. He can play inside and out and a leader on and off the field. Probably a 2-3 round guy right now.

Matakevich would be a good 3rd or 4th round pick up. Does seems to have great instinct and make plays. Hopefully, he'll be able to afford a better dentist once he's drafted. lol...

We should draft LB, Cassanova McKinzy just for his name. He's pretty good LB as well. lol...

Check out Zach Vigils brother, Nick Vigil. Better instincts that Zach and a harder hitter. Be interesting if we had 2 LB brothers on the team competing against each other or even playing together. I'd be interested in him around the 5th.

Arm tackling, bad angles, and inability to make a statement play when needed at the problems I see every Saturday with him.

Being an AU fan I watch him not make plays every Saturday. I would rather not have to watch him not make plays on Sunday.

                That's so funny..............because it's true.

He's right, there is no reason to put together a list of players that we need to draft because they are the same as last season, because most of these positions were ignored or the front office filled those positions with subpar players. Either way our needs are the same, but we will need to add quarterback to that list and probably a Defensive End too.

The holes remain the same but the names will be different and the old threads are gone. We need a QB to groom regardless.

I would have said the Dolphins need to take a good look at Memphis QB Paxton Lynch but he has vaulted up to the top QB prospect in the draft. Jared Goff got all pumped up by the hype machine but his play hasn't lived up it. Connor Cook is very solid. He's very mature and cool under pressure but relies so heavily on back shoulder passes that it is a little scary to take that game up to the next level. Lynch has led Memphis to an undefeated season so far and at 6'7 and 245 lbs. it's not a surprise to see him rise. He has really nice footwork and mobility and also the courage to reset his feet after scrambling and deliver a strike in the face of the inevitable smack in the mouth that he knows is coming. I'd still trade Tannehill and go with Cook or Lynch if I was calling the shots.

Agree on Lynch. Really like his game and for a guy that size, he has really good mobility. Goff is probably still the #1 though.

I will have to watch more games on Lynch. Ever since last season I wanted Cook so I am completely biased, but I am always open to check out new talent to see if they can change my mind. I will have to check out the next few Memphis games.
