  • OT-Forum Fantasy Football Fixed???

This morning my team was 6-0. Now, 4 days after the game was played, the score has been "adjusted" to a tie/loss for my team.

It just so happens that that I was playing the "owner" of the league, and battling for first place with a relative. The game score was "adjusted" twice before the "final" result in favor of the owner before this "adjustment." WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE???

I cannot file a protest as that would go to the winner of the game aka owner. So, I thought it may be some fun to see what the forum thinks happened. Was it...

A conspiracy between the owner and ESPN?

An unknown plot by the relative?

A blunder by the ESPN stat team, which took 4 days to find?

Someone from the 72 Dolphins not wanting to see any chance of perfection?

    Someone's butler?

    Something entirely different?

It's just fantasy football with no money involved but if that happened to my team I would be looking into it. Having said that, although I am not too familiar with the way ESPN runs things, I have been an owner of many leagues on Yahoo and to the best of my knowledge the owner of the league has a lot of power but they do not have the power to change the scores of games. NOW, having said that, the owner does have the power to change the settings, which could alter scores of the games. The owner of the league has the power to change the settings so that a particular players can get more points then they should have with the original settings. All changes in the settings should post to the main page though, at least it does on Yahoo. As of right now I am leaning towards an ESPN glitch but as I said, I would still be looking deeper into this to make sure nothing shady did go on or can go on.

I almost didn't join the league because the last time I was a part of the Phinatics league I was on my way to make the playoffs, I just needed to win one more game. It was playing a team to see who gets into the playoffs, winner advances. The week of this matchup the team I was going to play receives this RIDICULOUS trade offer from another team who was not going to make the playoffs AND had NOT adjusted their lineup in WEEKS. I posted on the message board how unfair this was for a team that isn't even playing and doesn't have anything to gain from the trade is making moves to keep me out of the playoffs but nobody denied the trade. Fantasy Football can be a dirty/rigged "sport" when you have ultra competitive people and/or people who like to cheat to win.

This thread was posted in fun with a smiley at the end. I am NOT accusing anyone of anything. Although perfection is fun to chase, I am still very much enjoying my introduction to FF and have Matt (who was the team we played} to thank for this. My wife is not in agreement but, such is life.

Stats are not official at games end. The NFL reviews every game and some stats change. Scores do not change but some stats do and while they don't change the outcome of the game depending on the scoring of the FFL league it can change that. All fantasy sports are the same way.

Sorry guys I have been out of town and hadn't seen this. As wonderfully Belichek as this would feel it has nothing to do with me. As a long time fantasy player I can tell you that Onole is correct. Very commonly the NFL reviews Stats and finds errors and then adjusts. So sorry, no Fantasy gate and no need to call Ted Wells.

LOL. For me it was a perfection deflating gate, Goddamnit!!! As mentioned Matt, I was just having a bit of fun with it because it happened to be you (the owner) and your relative fighting with me for 1st place. It still did suck to lose on an adjusted score tie, with the tie breaker being Rivers on the bench putting up great Dan The Man numbers.

Oh well. back to the drawing board with 3 guys on bye and almost half the team in the injury report.

I'm no Ted Wells but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn. I will review this which as you know will take months and send you my bill for millions of dollars.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

My counter offer is a ham sandwich made with jamon viejo for reinstatement of perfection.

Yeah, I kinda remember the stat adjustment coming into play for a 1000 yard runner or receiver in the past but, the memory is very foggy. I'm thinking Mercury Morris but not sure.

I was looking to make a move on FF but the action to do so is blank. Does everyone have the same problem?
