Dolphins "Too Physical" now?

I thought OV's play was a cheap shot on Mariota. Other then that one play I thought the Dolphins played an amazing game"If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." - George S. Patton
“The only thing worse then a liar is a liar that’s also a hypocrite!” - Tennessee Williams👍 1 -
Illegal, penalty and will be fined, but I really don't think we was intentionally going for his knee. Only he knows, but my perspective is I don't feel the hit had malicious intent behind it.👍 1Comment

I can't say with any certainty if it was intentional or not, but if it was Campbell needs to make an example of him to show that that shit won't be tolerated. I hope that isn't what Campbell had in mind when he said they would play "Borderline" dirty. -
Aha.......Great Minds think alike........I highly doubt Campbell is a "bountygate" type of coach. I think Vernon acted on his own, trying to play with the intensity that his coaches wanted and the other guys were playing at and got carried away. Hopefully this is an isolated incident.

While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.👍 1Comment

We discussed this subject in another thread today. Funny as Hell coming from ''Blitzburgh'' coaches and especially a **** LeBeau coached defense.
That said - Hell yes! I'd relish the rep the Fins had back in the days of Shula when we played tough, smashmouth football and owed the East for a decade or longer.👍 3Comment

I don't think there was any malicious intent on OV's part. He did apologize to Mariota after the game. OV was just trying to get to Mariota and from the position he was in all he could do was lunge towards him but OV has to know the rules that you can't hit a QB low because it will draw a penalty.Comment

Let him walk after the season and go be a head-ache for someone else.Comment

As to Turner, it appears Jurassic Joe was not enamored with Turner's way of going about his business. Why else the sudden change from Douglas?
I've always felt one of the worst traits of the past regime was their inability to recognize good players, and also playing some out of position.
BTW, is there a spell check on this here fine Forum?

Good article by Kevin Nogle on the Phinsider breaking down the all 22, Florio claims is a tell all. Truth is it is a tell all showing the Lewan was holding Vernon's right arm pulling him down as he was diving at Mariota's waist.
We take a look at the play in which Olivier Vernon hit Marcus Mariota in the knees from the All-22 film.

It's all part of the pusification of America. Everyone gets a participation trophy and no more handshakes after the game only hugs.👍 1Comment

Too physical,, LMMFAO!!!!! Yeah, Titans & the other's spewing this BULLSHIT (Let's call it what it is!) it probably would be a bit too physical if you were playing tiddly-winks or flippin' hopscotch...I'm sure if the situation were reversed and it was the Titans DE taking out Tannehill, the Titans would be saying it's a physical game & unfortunately these things happen!
I actually disagree with those who think OV's hit was dirty; aggressive? Hell yeah!, playing balls-to-the-wall all-out physical football? You betcha!! But dirty? Give me a freakin' break..I'm sure everyone who knows anything about football knows when you've got a big guy like OV coming around the corner with his only intent being to freakin' get to the QB, he's coming around so quickly with no hesitation and without thinking launching himself at the QB..I don't know alot about physics but i do know a body in motion stays in motion; pretty difficult at that point to stop in full stride practically airborn, pretty sure that only works in cartoons...Anyway, as a Fins fan i'm way over being the pussies and doormats of the league; teams love it that they can bully us and slap us around and we've always stood by and took it..Hell, maybe we can be the new bully on the block!Comment

With you on that!
OV was aggressive, true enough, but he was also pulled downward by the OL whom he had just spun in and out on... Vernon has made his share of mistakes, nobody will argue that, but he has also spent his entire career under HC Joe Philbin. I think we should consider waiting to see how he reacts to a more disciplined approach, and see if he is worth keeping... -
Agree 100%. I'm with those who say OV hasn't played to his potential, but as you say he has been one of many who have been Philbined & Coyled - Philbin probably would trade him for being too aggressive. OV is in a contract year & i'm anxious to see if he comes alive now the albatross is no longer hanging around this teams neck!

When i was a teen i used to wish that we were called the Miami Sharks or something with a bit more bite to it, maybe wearing uniforms with some darker colors to look a bit more imposing (Hey, i was a teen & didn't think the dark colors in 100 degree temps thing through!) I always thought dolphins were just too nice of a name & the name, the colors dictated that we play a soft, finesse style..We've been a soft finesse team since the days of Bryan Cox, Hell we even tend to take nasty guys like Richie Incognito & Ndamakong Suh and try to turn them into *****-cats.
I say let's follow DC's lead and play inspired, passionate, uber-physical football..Let's punch the other team in the face and see how they respond, God only knows we've been on the receiving end more than our fair share! If this means we're gonna have a bunch of grown cry babies whining that we play dirty, so be it!Comment
