  • Andy Cohen on Cam Wake

A good read about a guy who has given it his all and unfortunately won’t be around many more years.
    Can we sign this guy?

awesome, will cam make it to the HOF? he will definitely make it into the miami ring of fame and his jersey retired at the minimum!
IMHO and not the refs, he is the most held DE not getting the holding calls in the league for years and never complains to any great degree.
would be up with the greats in sacks if he wasn't held,JMHO!

Not just your opinion, my friend. I, and half this fine forum have commented the same. Those holds...RIGHT in front of game officials...it's amazing, with my eyesight and the holds are clearly visible.

I completely agree. He gets held on most every play and still has almost 100 sacks.

I think he’s in the HOF discussion. Definitely ring of honor. Don’t think they’ll retire the jersey though.

The guy has a heart of Gold! Definitely in my top 3 for sure. That said I’d cut him if he gets to be way overpayed for his latter years performance. Nature of the beast.

I agree, every dog has it's day and you have to realize as a player that the team can't pay big bucks to declining players and they have to go to another team wanting to pay them or retire when that time comes. wake is there next year, take a huge cut in pay or move on or retire!

I think Wake DOES retire, or requests a trade to a willing contender.,

Cameron Wake signed a 2 year, $16,125,000 contract with the Miami Dolphins, including a $1,000,000 signing bonus, $10,875,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $8,062,500. In 2018, Wake will earn a base salary of $8,000,000, a workout bonus of $125,000 and a incentive bonus of $1,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $9,625,000 and a dead cap value of $8,625,000.
        Contract Terms: 2 yr(s) / $16,125,000 Signing Bonus $1,000,000 Average Salary$8,062,500 GTD at Sign:$10,875,000 Total GTD:$10,875,000 Free Agent:2019 / UFA

        2019 37 UFA
        Contract Notes:
Wake has been the biggest bargain this team has had in many a year. Anyone thinking differently is just wrong.

Quinn is getting 50% more for half the production. Not a good deal.

The "Old Man" along with Gore will be sorely missed.

I wish I could get paid 2.02 Million per sack.

He's so good he's tied for 56th in the League right now..Also is very bad against the run, I wonder what we could have used that money for.

And the possible CTE that goes along with it? I get your point, though his value has always been as much about the THREAT..and the man gets held so much.
