Why haven't we seen these "All Important" stats on Tannehill lately?

Is it because he is ranked 21st?

Is it because guys like Josh McCown, Jameis Winston, Tyrod Taylor, Kirk Cousins, Sam Bradford, Blake Bortles, Alex Smith and Derek Carr ALL have better passer ratings them Ryan Tannehill?

After this Sunday Marcus Mariota and Kaepernick can be added to that list. Also, once Luck, Rothlisberger and Romo get healthy Tannehill will be dropping to the #26 position. Wow! #26 out of 32 quarterbacks, and many of these QB's are backups or rookies.

Time to draft a REAL quarterback next year.

I wonder if Tannehill would be willing to play Wide Receiver?

It was a big mistake to give Tannehill the contract extension last offseason. We should have just let him play out his rookie contract this year. Philbin has already been fired. We will probably have a new HC next year and we could have just let Tannehill walk next year as a free agent without any salary cap ramifications and start over with a new HC and a new QB next year. If we trade or release him next offseason we will have over $18M in dead money against our cap. We might be stuck with Tannehill another year when the dead money against the cap in 2017 will only be $6.9M.

DF, instead of making up COUNTLESS thread about how much you hate Tannehill, why not just keep adding to one? There is not one person on this forum that doesn't know you can't stand him, and I am not a shake the pom poms guy for RT, but dude...find something else. There is so much on this team that has been wrong.

Are you perhaps confusing DF with Kelbail? KB is the one who stomps on Tannehills **** every chance he gets although DF probably runs in a strong second place. I find it disturbing that in BOTH of the groups I moderate Tannehill gets bashed repeatedly and yet they hardly bash Thomas, Douglas, McCain, etc, etc etc. Guess it's true that the QB either gets too much credit or too much blame. Like you, I'm not a pom pom guy either and I see that Tannehill is probably never going to be anything more than a game manager but this constant bashing is why I don't post much anymore. To be frank, I'm sick of reading it and said so in my other group. Now I've said it in both groups.

I think the blame game goes towards the players position as well as their contract. The QB for any team will get the most blame especially if they are getting paid well. Then it goes strait to money, like Suh and others. If the defensive scheme gets changed and Suh still plays badly there will be many people complaining about him. Thomas, Douglas and McCain all stink but they are NOT playing the most important position on the field AND they are NOT being paid a ton either so that is probably why people on this forum and in your Facebook group aren't complaining about them. Just a thought and an opinion.........

Yeah, whomever drew up that contract really wanted to make sure that the Miami Dolphins were STUCK with that POS for at least another season. WHY did they NOT let him play out his contract to PROVE that he was worthy of being paid?!?!?!? I would rather have had to pay Tannehill more money then pay him this much money for playing the way he has been playing the past 3 plus seasons. The guy may have padded his stats with all his ****ing bullshit 2-7 yard passes, but that doesn't mean he is a good quarterback. His "stats" mean NOTHING! Everyone in the football world knows how easy it is to pad your stats by throwing short all day long. Those high percentage passes are really safe and look good on paper but they don't look good in the WIN COLUMN and eventually ALL his wide receivers will feel the same way Wallace did. They all be saying the same thing, "Trade me, coach! This guy can't get me the ball unless it's a screen pass!"

Nole, I have made about FOUR threads in the past three to four weeks and this is the FIRST thread I have made about Tannehill. The last thread I made was about Nate Solder being placed on IR, the thread before that was me asking ROSS to sell the team, the thread before that was about Coyle being fired and the thread before that was my Bold Prediction thread about the entire team, which came true. So, I have no idea where you are coming up with this stuff about me creating threads about Tannehill because it simply isn't true.

As I see it RYAN TANNEHILL is the Miami Dolphins NUMBER ONE problem, period. So, yeah, I feel like talking about it and venting my frustrations about it because this organization gave him a contract extension, just like they gave Philbin one, except the contract extension they gave Tannehill has my favorite team stuck with this idiot for at minimum another season. Tannehill might keep good, qualified coaches away from Miami. THAT pisses me off.

Should I talk about the offensive line, as if nobody knows how I feel about that situation? Should I talk about how our coaches suck, since that dead horse hasn't been beaten to death by EVERYONE on the forum. What is there to talk about that is new to you? Should I create a thread and talk about how awesome Campbell will be as a head coach because his appearance resembles Bil Cowher? I am quite sure I can go into a bad neighborhood and find a guy sleeping in an alley who kind of resembles Bill Belichick but that doesn't mean that bum will make a good head football coach. Please enlighten me and tell me what I am allowed to talk about on this forum.

I will NOT be eating crow this year like I was hoping because unfortunately I was correct about Tannehill, he f^^^ing sucks!

Tannehill is currently 21st in total passing yards
          12th in passing attempts
          34th in completion % (of QB's w/more than 50 attempts)

His first quarter stats so far are pretty awful...

          12/26/119/0/1 for TWO 1st downs
48 of those 119 yards came on the first play of the season, before an inc and a completion for 0 yds caused us to settle for a FG from the 30 (after a 1st and 10 at the 32)...
In the OTHER 12 quarters this season, RT is 85/145/861/7/4 which, while not great, is also not horrible...

If he doesn't breakout and turn things around, he is liable to be history sooner rather than later!

Sooner would be my preference. I just would hate to see this organization in another Henne or Fiedler situation where they ride the QB too long which causes the team to miss out on actual franchise quarterbacks that could help the team make a true playoff push. I came into this season with a lot of doubt BUT, with a lot of hope. I will admit that certain poster started to make me believe that Tannehill could turn it around this season but after watching him this season I have come to the conclusion that he is not developing into an NFL quarterback. After three plus seasons I feel he should have progressed WAY more then he has, even behind the terrible line. JMO

Since the FO and staff responsible for Tannehill being here are all gone, I would say that he is in a position of having to prove himself, or be gone...

You and I have always agreed that Tannehill really needs to have a better QB coach and unfortunately for Tannehill he has yet to get that kind of help from a true NFL caliber quarterbacks coach. Instead he is getting QB tips from Mike Sherman's son-in-law who will be looking for a job in the college ranks next spring. Hopefully Lazor wakes up and cuts him loose so we can see what Tannehill can really do behind center, but I don't think Lazor will do that. I truly want Tannehill to be a franchise quarterback but from what I've seen so far, especially this, his fourth season, I think he might be a career clipboard holder.

I had high HOPES when I heard that Marino was talking with Tannehill. I guess I didn't realize they might be talking about golf...

Our best hope is that the entire team just decided they would not play for Philbin and/or Coyle but even if that is the case that means we have a team full of quitters.

Sooooo.....DF. Are you unhappy with Ryan Tannehill's performance yesterday? He played nearly a perfect game. Neither of those picks were his fault and some of the throws he made were laser like accurate. What say you oh hater of Tanny?

I'm no hater of any player on the roster, but that 2nd pick was Tannehill. Even if Cameron HAD turned it up-field, that ball would have been beyond him.

                        Unhappy? No. Impressed? No.

I can't think of one quarterback in the league who couldn't have made the same throws as Tannehill did yesterday. There was NOTHING he did in yesterday's game that made me think anything differently about him. He played a good game. He still throws WAY too hard on, he still locks in on his receivers (Even the announcers made fun of him for that) , he still has the same problems he did prior to this game. Tannehill is nothing more then he was prior to this game. I will give him a golf clap for FINALLY throwing his first pass in FOUR YEARS with TOUCH on the ball. I almost fell out of my chair. Hopefully he can work on throwing with more arc and/or touch, taking some heat of his passes and he could make a step forward in the right direction. This was a TEAM VICTORY, not a Tannehill victory. The TEAM didn't rely on Tannehill to win this game, they could have won this game without him. You can take any starter from any team and they could have thrown those short passes just as well as he did, even 3rd string QB Landry could have made ALL those throws that Tannehill made. I hope the Dolphins TEAM keeps playing with this type of intensity because with a mediocre QB they can still win games as long as the defense is top 5-7.

Let's not forget Tannehill completing some long passes because he has real receivers this year and he had time yesterday. Wallace was most of the problem, as evident in Minnesota 1 TD in 5 games. He'd had better stats in Miami . Bridgewaters fault too?
