  • Miami reached out to Schwartz for DC

According to Andrew Abramson Miami offered the DC job to him...he turned it down...I shocked...really what an idiot, what a great situation to come into. I mean an organization that is in complete FUBAR mode, a defensive staff that he didn't hire, and needs to get his playbook installed in 13 days...how could he not jump at the chance...SMH

I guess we didn't learn from the Harbaugh situation. They go out and try to hire a DC for the DC while you still have a DC on staff...guess Coyle is getting and extension...unfreaking real.

I think he wants a HC job...Good luck, some are made to HC some are made to OC or DC

Say it ain't so. Coyle cannot stay here or we're no better off than we were two days ago.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

If they keep Coyle, I'll put the Fins on hold, and watch my wife's team, the Donkeys....BTW they have a QB that can't throw the ball very well anymore especially the deep ball and can't run the ball, yet they are 4-0....D wins.....

I may end up not watching Football for the rest of the season. I'll get the car done and start going for nice Sunday afternoon rides.

If this story is true Ross and his staff are idiots! If you want Schwartz to be your new DC you offer him the job AFTER the season and you also offer him a ton of money too. You do NOT offer him the job BEFORE you fire your current defensive coordinator. PHINSANITY at its finest. Now Schwartz will never come to Miami, not even after the season is complete and Coyle is fired. Thanks, Ross, for removing all hope that this team will improve.

Well, since the damage is already done, call Schwartz back and tell him they will make him the highest paid DC in the NFL, and that he has a shot at the HC coaching job at the end of the season.

Yeah, that was my point. You can tell him that water isn't wet too, the point was to just get him here. But, the idiots will have to fire Coyle PRIOR to making that call.

If was up too me, Coyle would still be on the Runway looking for the Dolphins jet......

Why not tell him he'll have first shot at the HC position if Campbell doesn't work out.

So, lie to him about the head coaching job to lure him in as DC? Doesn't seem much more ethical if you ask me. He can not become our next HC. You do agree with that, right? We are in a big F'in jam right now. Who wants to walk into this mess right now? How about Mike Singletary? That *****r is just crazy enough to relish the opportunity.

Don't want him for a head coach so I guess that's that!

How would Andy Abramson know this, if it had actually happened. I'm not buying it without further corroboration... I can't picture Tannenbaum, Campbell, or Ross making such an offer. Sounding a candidate out, maybe, but not an actual offer...
Fire Coyle outright, and either promote a member of our defensive staff, or bring back a great player who was "SMART" on the field, like Thomas or Taylor to be an "interim DC"...

Thomas would beat the crap out these guys in 3 days of watching these no tackling morons practice....

This is a big help for Campbell. Team is looking for a DC for ya before you decide to fire the other one, and then you need to deal with a 2nd or 3rd choice who should not be a DC.

              Gets better by the hour.

Did they cite any sources for this rumor, or WHO on the Dolphins made contact?
I see Rapport is claiming that the team "touched base" with Schwartz, which is a LONG cry from making an offer...

I'm betting the ranch that I don't live long enough to EVER see him as a HC anywhere again.

Here's some stuff on Campbell....there's a video that's short, but you'll get the idea....

The Miami Dolphins have themselves a new head coach. At least on an interim basis. But, so far, it's been nothing but positive reviews for Dan Campbell, who took over the team for the recently fired Joe Philbin. Of course, the majority of that praise is based off of one...
