It would be really hard to shake up the staff too much at this point. So there is probably only one real answer. Jim Schwartz as interim HC and oversee the defense with a new appointed DC from within. Schwartz has NFL experience and did a respectable job with a franchise that seemed to be a failure constantly. He got way more out of Suh than what we are getting. Schwartz is currently a consultant for the leagues officiating. So hell, maybe we would get some calls. But I am sure the league would allow him to leave his post and become a coach again.

No way Schwartz comes in mid-season, just wont happen. Put yourself in his shoes, why would he tie his rope to this sinking ship. It's a horrible staff and he could not bring a staff in mid-season. Just wont happen.
I understand what you are saying, but just wont happen.

As i've stated previously, i can't stand Schwartz..but i'd take him in a heartbeat! The reason i can't stand him is that he's always come off as a bully, arrogant ******* with an over the top, overbearing personality. But after having ol' one scoop of sugar free, lactose free, gluten free vanilla ice cream running the team, maybe he's just what the doctor ordered...
That being said, i'm pretty sure Schwartz or anybody else outside of the current lineup of misfits inside the organization would take the HC position (especially only an interim position) 4 games into the regular season..Maybe as some have suggested it would be best to try to hire him as DC with the understanding that he will have first shot at the 'vacant' HC position at seasons end!

An extended interview with the Dolphins would be better than a consulting gig with the league. If not then what? What answer does Ross have to make a move? Keep Philbin? Promote Lazor who is struggling as well? Or God forbid, Rizzi as has been suggested this morning on NFLN? Given the situation, it's the only viable option that makes any sense at this point. But I could be missing something.

Honestly, I think the only thing Ross should do at this point is to fire Philbin and Coyle, then promote Rizzi to the interim HC. At first I thought Lazor, but his offense has regressed. Rizzi does have experience being a HC and as the ST coordinator he should be able to see the big picture better than anyone else on the staff right now. Besides, many have reported that the players respect Rizzi, and right now that's what they need more than anything.

You guys are too funny.
Rizzi as the interim scares the hell out of me.
-
If that scares you you might wanna close your ears..Some have said Ross might consider bringing Sherman back as interim HC, as he already has complete understanding of both the team & Tannehill...Mark my words, if that happens i'm throwing in the towel!
-
God no! No Sherman. Anything would be better. Even firing Coyle only. But I think Philbin and Coyle both must go.

Just and FYI, but according to Barry Jackson, for the first time since Philbin has been in Miami he doesn't have a press conference scheduled for the day after a game.
