  • How many games will the Fins win this season??

We've had our sip from the Hope Springs (Wow, that didn't last long!!) and have since crashed back down to reality...From predictions of 6-0 starts, 11-5 records, playoffs & possibly even contending for the division title..it's become abundantly clear after 3 short (short only in actual time as it has felt like an agonizing eternity!!) weeks that this trainwreck of a team has no identity, no leadership, no sense of direction and may have trouble finding ways to win another game. I know that's probably an exaggeration but it's definitely not beyond the realm of possibility..

More likely is this stumbling, bumbling dumpster fire will find a way to squeak out enough wins to ultimately harm rather than help themselves; you've heard of the Patriot Way..Well, this is the Fins way; win not quite enough to make the playoffs but just enough to miss drafting in the upper echelon of prospects coming out..Hell, knowing our luck Clueless Joe will run off a few wins at the end of the year in garbage time to convince Ross to honor his final year of his contract, as despite all our adversity we stuck together and just missed the playoffs by this...much! Not a chance in hell of this happening you say, c'mon man, we're Dolphins fans, you know damn well it could happen! Nothing, other than us playing respectable ball or contending is beyong possibility!

Going back to when the schedule first came out i studied it and thought to myself with all things being equal (same shitty coaching staff, same bitter after taste of seasons past still fresh in my mouth) we would be extremely lucky to win 4 games - After some serious thought while sipping my Aqua & Orange Kool-Aid & viewing life through my Aqua & Orange Goggles i started feeling that funny little emotion called hope that try as we might to keep it locked up tight we always seem to allow it to creep up on us..I wouldn't, couldn't let it happen to me again, i couldn't be stupid enough to fall for the ol' 'this time it'll be different BS' Could i?? Well, ultimately i fell into the trap that we as Fins fan ALWAYS fall into..and i started thinking that maybe, just maybe we actually could win, that we actually had a shot at double-digit wins, that hell, despite all of obvious shortcomings, faults & the owner's blind faith in his pathetic staff, we might even have a legitimate shot at the playoffs..

Well, as i said..that ridiculous hope was extremely short-lived (even for Fins fans) & i thought heading to our 'home' game thousands of miles & a continent away against our hated division rival, who actually made drastic changes to their staff (hiring our one-time cast-off as HC & stealing our best position coach) that it would be a good time to do what our coaching staff has no concept of, and that is to make adjustments..Time to adjust our perspective & our predictions as to how many games this team will win...My gut is telling me that it'll be hard for us to win 4 or 5 more games...Thoughts??

My thought is this - You just spent more time writing those four paragraphs then the Miami Dolphins organization deserves. As a fan you deserve an A+ for spending any time on this team that is only consistent on failing and breaking the hearts of their fans. Great Post!

I think the Dolphins will win 3 games this season. I know I will be wrong because they will win more, not because they are good or well coached, but because this is the Dolphins and there is one thing they know how to do and that is to win JUST ENOUGH games to shoot themselves in the foot so they can't draft anyone they truly need.

We will be pick 5 in the draft! Don't know how many wins that'll be maybe 5/6. I thought 13 wins just a month ago. Even then I think we have a game manager that can take us far once we build other areas. Personally i don't wanna spend the 1st draft pick on a QB but at this point I'll roll with the punches.
The deeper the roots, the higher the reach.

If we keep Failbin and his marry men until the end of the season, then I think we will be a punt return away from a perfect record. 1-15 is my guess.

Philbin and the Dolphins will screw it up, and win a couple of games this year which will blow Miami's draft changes. Miami will get Coyle as HC after Philbin is shitcanned, and the Dolphins will be just as dismal as the last 15 years. It will continue like this for 3-5 years more years until Ross dies of old age, or sells the team as a bad tax write off.

We'll win 6 games just to sneak in the top 12 of the draft, then Hickey will draft a LT from a small school in the 1st rd, a Kicker in the 2nd rd and DT in the 3rd.... Coyle will be the new HC... WEEEEEEEEEE!

I think we win at least 6 games. A lot of it is going to come down to well the defense plays though. They've been terrible the last 9 games going back into last season.

My thought is 6 games as well and probably end up picking around #10.

If they keep Philbin for the duration of the season then I say 7-8 wins. He has been consistent if nothing else.
                  Can we sign this guy?

Good post. The way we're playing now we might catch a FEW teams off guard and get 3 wins. This team is just to soft on top of everything else.

I will put a disclaimer on my pick. If we beat the Jets then I say we will win 7 games. If we lose to the Jets then I say we will win 4 games.

I'm going out on a limb.... We will win at least 1 game...

IF things stay the status quo. 6-7 games.
