  • Philbin's Response

Philbin was short on answers after the game. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that Philbin started his postgame press conference by saying, "It starts with me," before moving on to an admission that he’s not a magician.
“We are what we are right now.” Philbin said.“We’ll look at everything we’re doing. If I had a magic potion, I would have brought it out earlier. … We are either going to stick together or not … We don’t have anyone to blame. There’s nobody to blame.”

My Bold Prediction was that the Dolphins would get humiliated by the Bills by the score of 37 to 17. I was off by a little, since the score was 41 to 14, but it was pretty close. I also stated that the Dolphins would lose to the Jets the following Sunday and that Coach Philbin would be fired sometime during the Bye Week.

I am sticking to my prediction. However, after reading Philbin's answers to these questions I think the sooner they fire him the better. "We either need to stick together or not." (?) What the FU*K!! What kind of head coach makes a statement like that?!?!?!? Those are the words of a quitter, a loser, someone who is completely lost and has no idea what to do about it. "There's nobody to blame." The Dolphins have NOBODY to blame for this humiliating game and start to the season?!? I don't think that is true, JOE! I think the blame is ALL YOURS! These answers really fu**ing pissed me off! You need to go ASAP! What a joke of a coach!

Cuch suggested hiring Schwartz as the DC and I am all for that idea. I don't really think the Dolphins would hire a DC in the middle of the season and I highly doubt someone like Schwartz would take on the POS job but I do like the idea. I would even be okay with hiring him as the interim head coach. I have heard MANY people state that he is a dick but I would rather have a dick as a head coach then a bumbling idiot with no leadership or motivational skills!

Yes Philbin should be replaced after London. Still with apuppet in place our players might on their own rally for themselves and somehow make the playoffs. If jot at least we got our Superbowl( draft ). Top 15 probably again if not higher. No to a QB but that's just me. Instead I know you wanted a LT this year and let's go get one to supplant Albert and his injury prone ways.

If Colye was to be fired they wont hire someone outside the organization. They would probably promote Duffner as the interim DC. If Ross was to fire Failbin they would probably make Lazor interim HC.

Considering the way our LB's have looked, I don't know if Duffner is a good idea, but then again, the unit might be suffering due to the DC... Lazor hasn't impressed me yet, but he is the lone member of the coaching staff I'm not DISGUSTED with so far...

No, but you wont get anyone to come in mid-season. Would be impossible to put a staff together during the season. We are stuck till January.

Change must occur and it should be today.

Usually you hear something about Ross being upset in the press next day after a loss, maybe a good sign that he is saying nothing. Maybe the axe is coming. I was at the game, the boos were incredible, Ross was trying to showcase the stadium and product on the field. He has got to be smoking mad!! All those lost sales, mid 3rd qtr people gone including me. They should make the change now,we weren't gonna win against the jets anyway and you have this week and the bye to change 😡😡😡😡

Yeah, as I mentioned in the original thread, I don't think the Dolphins will be firing Coyle mid-season. But, that doesn't mean I don't like the idea of that happening. The fans seem to come up with great ideas, you know, like firing Coyle or signing Mathis but the people in charge don't seem to be coming up with any ideas whatsoever to make this team better. But, why would they try and make this team any better, there isn't anyone to blame.

At this point Ross should hold a contest and pick a fan to coach the team each week...couldn't be any worse

Now that is a great idea! Couldn't do any worse that the clueless buffoons that are running the circus right now. Have a weekly fan drawing, coach for a day, with a free Subway sandwich.....

That's funny and sad at the same time........because it's true. This organization would probably do a whole lot better if we were more like the Packers, where the fans owned the team, but with a little twist where the fans actually got to call the shots as to which players get drafted or picked up in free agency. A voting process by the fans would probably produce more valuable players then all the GM's the Dolphins have had over the years combined. This week against the Jets......Nole coaches the offense and Alpha coaches the defense. My job will be to fire everyone who I think is responsible for this debacle, and I think I will start with the person who doesn't think there is anyone to blame. Then, I will go find Sherman's son-in-law and tell him to get the F out of our building!

First, my condolences for you having wasted your time & money on our joke of a football team...Happy as hell to hear that the team was being booed at every turn, this team & the whole coaching staff is beyond pathetic & one can only hope Ross can see through those thick-ass glasses of his and figures out what most of us have known for quite some time! Ross screwed up BIG-TIME by allowing Queasy Joe another year, but he's made that bed and now has to sleep in it - It's become painfully obvious that Philbin & Company are totally inept and should be fired ASAP; the sooner Ross clues in the better for everyone!!!

My only regret is that our next 'home' game is in London this week & the Fins won't be booed out of their home stadium again; though if the Brits appreciate getting good bang for their buck they might boo the Fins outta their stadium as well...

I use to say this all the time during the Wanny era; hold a raffle & bring the 'lucky' fan down from the stands to coach the team...Score more than 20 points and become interim HC, actually win a game & get a long-term contract!

At this rate I'd prefer a magician's apprentice.... Nobody could be worst then this Mickey Mouse staff!

What's funny is "it starts with me" and nothing starts. Go back to Green Bay already.

I didn't see the press conference, but based on your transcript summary, is it possible he dropped his 5x7 cards and when he picked them up he read scrambled nonsense...in a dull monotone?
