    "Suck For Cook"

Yeah, Tannehill might not have been the reason why the Dolphins lost today but he sure did prove that he is FAR from being a franchise quarterback. His throws were back to their old ways, not really old since he was doing them four games ago. He CONSTANTLY throws BEHIND his receivers, he can NOT sense pressure and when he is not throwing behind his receivers he is overthrowing them. There are just WAY too many fault to list. There "might" not be any options to replace him this year but the way this Dolphins team is playing, I think they should lose out and draft Connor Cook with their first pick next year. I have no idea who will be calling the shots or coaching but hopefully they will agree.

The verdict is in.........Tannehill sucks! He is nothing more than Henne 2.0.........a slightly better version of Chad Henne, nothing more.

DOLPHINS SHOULD LOSE TO DRAFT CONNOR COOK

The Dolphins will win just enough games to not be able to draft him. The Bears will probably take him. I agree that Tannehill is not going to lead us anywhere but we have a myriad of problems other than the QB. The o-line stinks. We don't have any quality RB's. The defense is vastly overrated. We get no pass rush and we can't stop the run 1 sack in 3 games and Taylor was not even harassed today. Our secondary stinks. We don't have a MLB. We have so many holes to fill its not even funny.

Remember when Onestat left after a 1 and 8 start? The team rallied under Jim Bates to win 3 of last 7 including over the eventual Superbowl champion Patriots! That's what happens when a coach loses a team. We can't make an accurate evaluation of this team until Philbin is gone. But right now I would say no one is safe except Suh and Tannehill. We just bought those farms and their cap numbers would kill us if we cut them, but they need to show up and perform like their paychecks under the "new" coach. If not I could see them getting benched for the humiliation factor. But we are going to pay them one way or another.

I would trade Tannehill's ass to a team that "thinks" he is a franchise quarterback. I am guessing there is a team or two out there that might fall for it and give up an early round pick for him, especially since his contract isn't that bad. The Dolphins can trade him and use that pick on an offensive lineman to protect Cook. The new coach and GM can also sign a o-lineman in free agency as well. This team needs help! If Tannehill had Brady's o-line he would still suck, just not as bad as he usually does. I am tired of the 15 yard box that Tannehill has to play inside to make an accurate throw!! He can go stink up another team.

DF what do you think about California QB Jared Goff? He is a Junior so he might decide to come out early. He has put up some impressive numbers even more so than Connor Cook.

I don't like him. I have no idea why, call it a gut feeling, but I just have a bad feeling about him. I have been on the Connor Cook bandwagon for a long time so I will admit that my opinion is totally biased. I was hoping Cook would come out last year but he decided at that last minute to play for another year. Don't get me wrong, I know Goff is playing well, I just think Cook is ready to take over an NFL offense right now and doesn't need to be groomed as much. I actually think he could start for the Dolphins next weekend and do better than Tannehill. Yeah, that opinion is biased too. I am not a fan of Tannehill's and now more than ever I just don't think he will ever get the position. It's his forth season and he is still making rookie throws, even when he is NOT being pressured.

I think we will have a better idea of how truly bad we are going to be this season after next weeks game. If we lose to the Jets I could see us being horrific this year like 3-13 or 4-12. If we lose next week we will not win a divisional game this year. Heck it will be a tall order to beat Tennessee and Houston. So if we do get a top 5 pick then hopefully we can draft a franchise QB. We desperately need to get it right this time. We just wasted 4 years on Tannehill.

In my opinion the key to this season was the first six games since the schedule gets much tougher after that. I believe this team is LUCKY that they are not 0-3 the way they played against the Redskins, especially Tannehill. If the Dolphins lose to the Jets next week I will be referring people to my "Bold Prediction" thread where I think Coach Philbin gets fired during the bye week. This organization needs a house cleaning because this coaching staff is completely and utterly worthless from top to bottom.

I guess I am in the minority....but I don't see Tannehill as even in the top 15 of players we need to replace. When we get our top 5 pick we should do everything we can to trade down for more picks.

We need help at MLB, OLB, CB, S, DE, OT, OG and maybe RB

Think about it from a talent, age and salary perspective. Based on what I've seen, we have Jones, Jenkins and Suh on D. Landry, Parker, Cameron, Pouncey and Tannehill on O.

Everyone else is old, an upcoming FA, totally underperforming, always hurt or just sucking.

Next year unfortunately will probably be worse....because we have no money to replace all those scrubs disgracing this franchise.

Yeah I think we were all hoping for a 5-1 or 6-0 start after we saw the schedule released. Right now I think the best we will be is 3-3 and even 2-4 would not shock me. We are just not a good team. We have too many glaring holes and the things we thought we would be good at we are not. I don't think Philbin will be fired during the season unless things get really ugly which they could. I think Ross will wait till after the season is over to fire him. I want a total house cleaning though like I mentioned in another thread, I want an organizational enema. No more firing the GM but keeping the coach then firing the coach but keeping the GM. Everyone needs to go. We need a fresh start.

1 - 5 wouldn't shock me either. What team in the NFL has looked as bad as Miami over the first three weeks?

I don't see a single game the rest of the way where this team should be favored. We might stumble into a couple of wins (like we did week one) but we are probably playing the worst football in the NFL through 3 games.

I totally agree. I think Hickey and Tannenbaum have done a good job but unfortunately they work for the Miami Dolphins, an organization that can't afford to have yet another "partial" house cleaning. This team does need to clean house from top to bottom. I am not sure who was in charge of going after wide receivers instead of offensive linemen or who didn't think signing Mathis was a good idea, but nonetheless they all need to be fired. There are MANY holes to fill on this team but instead of filling the most glaring hole they decided to overload ONE position, a position that would be meaningless without the other being filled. "The cart before the horse" comes to mind. As I mentioned dozens of times already, it just didn't make sense to spend so much attention on receivers if your quarterback doesn't have time to find them down the field. When you couple that with a QB who can only throw accurately for about 5-12 yards, it makes for a really vanilla offense that won't be putting many points on the board. All those throws BEHIND......ALL his receivers just showed how little he has grown. Yeah, he has improved in some areas, on the stat sheet, but NOT in the areas that actually matter and help you win football games. Time for a change, in the front office, the coaching staff and at the quarterback position.

I actually think I am the one who is in the minority here. I could be mistaken but I think the majority of the fanbase believes that Tannehill is great and will be amazing behind a better offensive line. I, however, do not share this same belief. I watched Tannehill making the exact same mistakes today as he did four years ago as a rookie. He throws directly into the line more than any other QB I have ever watched play. He throws BEHIND his receivers (plural.....not just Wallace) more than any QB I have ever seen play. He over throws and can't sense pressure and I don't sense that he has what it takes to carry a team like a franchise QB should be able to do. This is his fourth season, there should be no more excuses, he should be able to sense pressure and make all the throws. He cannot make all the throws and he definitely doesn't sense pressure. I am starting to wonder if he has a vision problem because his peripheral vision seems to be nonexistent. I know it's not all his fault. He has had the worst o-line in the league for years and his coaches should not be coaching in the NFL but they are not the reason why he can't throw a F-ing football. He is an NFL quarterback and he still has no idea what the word ARC means. He throws deep passes the same way he throws his short passes, with no arc and as hard as he F-ing can.

I was patient with Tannehill for the first 3 years mainly because I knew we didn't have much of a choice since we invested so much in him however I have now lost patience with him. He is never going to be more than a mediocre QB. He puts up better numbers but it doesn't lead to points. Our offense is averaging a pathetic 14.7 ppg. He has a problem with field vision. I don't think he reads the field well which causes him to not see open receivers and he lacks accuracy beyond 15 yards which causes him to overthrow and throw behind receivers and when he does connect he rarely hits a receiver in stride, the receiver always has to adjust to the ball which takes yards away from the play. I also think he has poor peripheral vision which causes him to have poor pocket awareness. I just don't think he has the instincts for the position. Even if he had a better supporting cast I don't think that would make him significantly better.

                            I totally agree with you!

The short passing game is great if all you care about is padding your stats and your completion percentage so you "appear" to be a decent quarterback on PAPER, but the reality is that in Tannehill's case, he is just not cut out to be a starting quarterback in this league, not on a winning team anyway. It's time to move on from Chad Henne 2.0
