I am wondering why more fans are not talking about this guy, John Benton? Doesn't Benton have to take at least part of the blame for the reason why the Dolphins offensive line sucks and why the front office hasn't gone after certain players like Mathis? Are we all just assuming that the blame falls on Philbin and HIckey/Tannenbaum? Maybe Benton is making false claims that the Dolphins o-line is fine and that he can coach up the players that are on the roster. Nevertheless, this dude needs to be put on notice with the rest of the coaches and fools who are making us fans scream that the sky is falling.

See, this is what gets my goat, we see it every Sunday, we know how bad the OL is and the D, but no one in the "Organization" can see it? Really? Is anyone even watching the games except us disappointed fans????

It may be the chicken salad argument here though - look who we've had on the roster the last couple years. There just isn't a good line there....

Why is it then that the Patriots can start 3 rookies on their o-line and they don't miss a beat? None of them were even high picks. The OG from FLA St. was a 4th round pick, the other OG who is from GA Tech was another 4th round pick and an undrafted Center. We have 3 former first round picks on our o-line and we stink. The difference must be coaching.

I put it more on Philbin and Lazor than I do Benton. Benton had some very good offensive lines in Houston. My issue is that the offensive line doesn't fire off the ball, but instead they slide along the line. I think that is more of the zone stretch running game. I have no issue with a ZBS but sometimes you need to just let your offensive line fire especially when they are struggling. Philbin or Lazor (not sure who) wants to be a complete finesse team and pass the damn ball 65% of the time.

Sometimes you just gotta let the big uglies be big uglies...
