  • Brice McCain

With all the justified complaining I have seen, why is no one complaining about his completely inept performance? He let the receiver cross his face at the goal line for an easy TD. He then ran down the field and was in great coverage position. But interfered with the receiver and looked like he had no idea how to play the ball. So instead of an interception, he gave them a long spot foul. I would have cut his ass right then.

Except knowing Davis was all but history I'd say we are getting low on corners with McCain at least being better than scrap heap pile. I'm only guessing.

McCain should be playing the slot. Unfortunately, we don't have another boundary corner. Geniuses took a backup DT with a second round pick when we have no starting caliber Guards, 1 CB and no Middle Linebacker.

I'm sure Phillips is a good player but is he that much better than AJ Francis plus a starter at a spot of much greater need?

Tru dat! And some are saying Hickey has done a great job... 2nd rd DT along with 114 mil DT, an over paid injury prone LT and a 3rd rd for Kenny Who? after going WR in the 1st rd... Let see, In one draft after drafting a RT in the 1st rd, one would think after bullygate you would of Drafted a MLB, LT/G and a DB/FS in the fist 3 rds.. Or maybe a stud power back to take the pressure off RT... Just saying... This whole organization is clueless.. Starting with Ross!

Ok, I'll say it, he is really bad......Not sure there is anyone in the secondary I like right now....Bowman stinks on ST's, Grimes is getting beat left and right, although he does make plays here and there, Aikens stinks, Reshad...he's playing good....No ILB or Secondary, not a good sign...

How have good players ended up being so bad in one off season? It has to be coaching. I was curious if anyone else saw how bad McCain looked.

Bortles made the whole Secondary look sophomoric...upfront they couldn't stop my 11 yearold from getting a 1st down... And 25 yrds from our running game was awesome! But RT should of won the game for us.... Coach Philbin is doing a fantastic job..... yes!

I would have created a thread about him but my Tannehill thread didn't go over too well. When you try and place PART of the blame on other players the torches get lit and they try and put words in your mouth. AHA......Tannehill didn't lose the game this past Sunday, but he could have won the game for the Dolphins if he were more talented. McCain played terribly and deserves to be put on notice.

          - Brice McCain had a lower leg injury early in the game and he was hobbling the remainder of the game.
          - Walt Aikens is learning OTJ and was getting torched with mental mistakes.
          - Jones was less than 100% as well.

Of course they targeted Brice McCain. It was the smart thing to do. Bortles stayed away from Grimes and picked on the weak links - McCain and Aikens.

Hopefully we take our lumps now and get better as the season progresses.

But our coaches weren't smart enough to go after their undrafted rookie CB when he came in the game due to injury to others. Even the announcers were shocked we didn't throw at him. Once again, coaching.

Brice McCain was supposed to be our slot corner. The hope was that Taylor was ready to step up and start opposite Grimes. Unfortunately he hasn't and so McCain is playing on the outside and Taylor is playing in the slot. DB will be a major priority next year.

As Alpha mentioned McCain is more of a nickle back forced to play boundary due to not having anyone else...shame on the FO. I would think though if Miami could get a pass rush against a second tier QB he would be ok. However, no pass rush and as Cuch said he had a leg injury and he was picked on...
