  • Barometer of where we stand this Saturday

This Saturday's game against the Dirty Birds is our 3rd preseason game & everyone knows what that means. The starter's should play 3 quarters and i believe we'll have a bit of a better idea as to where we stand following this game. So far i think our first team has been pretty damn impressive, though some of the 'same ol' - same ol' ' problems from years past seem to still be present, e.g.; red zone issues, allowing huge gains on the ground - Also our lack of a pass rush so far has been a bit puzzling..

I look forward to seeing where we stand at the conclusion of Saturdays game, though unfortunately i don't think i'll be able to get the game...It would be great if someone could post active game updates to keep the less fortunate up to date!

A game thread for the game might be some fun on the new forum IF others are up for it? Worst case is ESPN's play by play on line.

Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand...

A game thread would be cool..Does ESPN do a play-by-play similar to NFL.com, where you see the football field graphic & the play-by-play rundown tracked on the screen?? I used to have all the preseason games streamed to my computer (20 bucks through NFL.com, but they stopped doing it)

The NFL Network isn't airing the game until Monday morning at 2:30am (PFT) but if you have Fox Sports Florida you can watch the game on Sunday at 5pm. (PST)

Am I the only one satisfied with what our 1st team did so far. I am sooooo worried about injuries. Please bubble wrap all first teamers. I'll take my chances from real game 1!

if your starters go down in this game or the first game the result is the same,no quality back ups,so put them out there to get the feel for the live action and get into game form and let the chips fall where they may.if we loose thill, suh etc. would be a shame but the season ends in the same way if they loose any of them.

I am not satisfied at all. I think our offensive line is horrendous, the linebackers are subpar, the secondary scares me and equally as important, I think Lazor needs to open up this offense. I think Lazor is doing what Sherman did and hogtying Tannehill when he should be cutting him loose. They need more read-options and need to go down the field more often. I realize that this is a dialed-down version but I just don't think it's that dialed-down. Basically, I have not been a big Tannehill supporter but as of right now I am keeping a close eye on Lazor. In the Redzone LAZOR made some questionable play calls, only giving Tannehill ONE option. Why? Why would Lazor make calls on the goaline that only has ONE option? If the quick slant wasn't available there were no other options. Tannehill drops back and rifles the ball in there, whether he is open or not. It looked a lot like the play that Seattle ran to LOSE the Super Bowl. Mistake.

I think our first team on both sides have played well. I am not too concerned about LB, but it's an area that needs to be addressed in the off-season. I am very concerned about LT. Not sure when Albert will be back and at what level, and not sold on Fox out there. We are going to see a lot of short passes. So we need to get prepared for it.

Hey guys we feature a forum just for game threads. The last one didn't get much action, but we had just basically launched the site. If you want to log in there during the game you can talk away, or arrange to meet there and talk during the replay on NFL network.

I too would like to see a little more dominance in our pass rush, a little more play making out of our LBs, and more running room from the O Line. Maybe this is the week. Oh yeah...throw in a Tannehill dep connection to make it complete.

Just a quick update here, I'm hearing Albert and Misi both returned to full practice today.

Are you serious?? That would be awesome news..Misi's nothing special but he is very solid when healthy & our LB play has been pretty abysmal..AND EVERYONE knows how much we need Albert back, just hope like hell they don't rush him back too soon!

Although, I would love to watch the first team play into the 3rd, I have to admit as thin as our depth is I would be OK if they sat them also. Right now I'm OK with vanilla. Come opening day I want to start seeing that Banana Split.

They played Misi at multiple LB positions. I don't think they are happy with the progression or lack there of from McCain. I think the game one starting LB's will be Misi, Sheppard, and Jenkins.

You think they will keep Sheppard in the middle and move Misi back outside?

They way McCain has played I think they might in 4-3 sets. Like I said in another thread I expect a lot of 2 LB sets though with Jones playing in the box. I think Jones has a HUGE year as he will be the key in the back 7.
