Ravens acquired CB Will Davis from the Dolphins in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft pick.

The Dolphins never had plans to use Davis this season, but kept him on their 53-man roster in hopes of getting something back. They accomplished that goal in this deal with Baltimore. The 93rd pick in the 2013 draft, Davis was ineffective in two-plus years with Miami. He's a depth addition for the Ravens.

As great as our secondary has been looking, the move makes sense. Plus you have to admire the work our coaching staff have done developing that 3rd rounder into a 7th round pick in future!

LOL....... indeed. But at least they got something for him. Won't be surprised to see that 7th pick bundled with another to move up in the draft.

The biggest downside to Davis besides just not being good enough/injuries was he had no special teams value.

For a conditional 7th round pick, why bother? Now watch him become a decent player there. He will probably pick off Tannehill when we play them later in the year. Thats how things always go for us. Look at yesterday Odrick outplayed Suh. Incognito will probably get revenge on us next week. This is the sad life of a Dolfan.

Yeah, he will now make the Pro Bowl in 2016.

I'm surprised Ross doesn't see the pattern here. Players are good....even great....then come to Miami and do nothing. Players don't do much in Miami, get released (or traded for a bag of chips) and suddenly become solid starters and playmakers.

Maybe.....juuuuuuuuuuuuuussssssssst maybe the problem isn't with the players?

You're taking the trade on face value. If we hadn't traded him, we likely would have just released him and got nothing.

I won't be surprised to see that 7th bundled with another pick to move up and around in the next draft... it's how the draft game is played and Tannenbaum never stands pat in the draft. This past draft, we traded our 2nd and 6th round pick for the Eagles 2nd and picked up 2 5th round picks. Yeah, I know - Hickey is the GM.
