  • Suh ignoring play calling??

From the sounds of it, looks like Suh has turned on Coyle and it doing what he wants to do. This isn't good if true. We can't have Suh just go in and do what he wants. It's a team game and it throws the others into confusion of what their duty is on the play. Sounds like Suh got his money and Suh will do what Suh wants to do.

    Going off script

A big reason why: Suh, who for the second straight week was a nonfactor, strayed from Kevin Coyle’s script.
The Miami Herald has learned that Suh freelanced at times Sunday, creating confusion on the defense. By taking matters into his own hands, the Dolphins’ $114 million man took a bad situation and made it worse.

“I couldn’t tell you,” Suh said, when asked to explain his uninspired play. “At the end of the day, we have to go back to the drawing board and figure out what we want to run so guys can make plays and go from there.”

      Absolutely zero comparison to Haynesworth.

This is extremely troubling to me. Not only is the supposed face and leader of D-line ignoring the coaching staff, he is blowing it off like it is nothing. This is not a good thing for the D or the team.

Sorry, I don't feel there is a player on D that likes Coyle play book.

First off instead of having 8 referees hanging out watching the Dolphins practice and making sure they don't commit the 30 penalties they did yesterday, we would be better off using that time on tackling drills....

How in the last 2 weeks do we start off a game so poorly on D??? Coyle had a plan both weeks and it was crap. Maybe there are some that change the system during the game because we couldn't stop them otherwise. Does anyone remember it took the D players to tell Coyle how to stop the Jets last year?

I don't think we have a plan at all, we just line up and suck.....

Players not liking Coyle's scheme/play calling is not a new issue. Odrick and Starks spoke out about it last year as well. I will take the word over a proven veteran that has been the best at his position for a few years over a DC who hasn't proven jack squat.

I'm telling you, you don't start off on D the way we did the last two weeks because players are rebelling, they rebel when they're getting their arses kick.....

My bet is they are changing the D after Coyle's D doesn't work, but that doesn't matter, where is Philbin, or Coyle, if Suh is doing this, then why don't they stand up and bench him. Do that with Bellycheat and your benched........you know why, because then it will all be in the open about how the players all feel....

Suh's performance on the field PRIOR to coming to Miami speaks for itself. Suh is NOT the problem, Coyle is the problem. Suh may have improvised but it was because unlike Coyle, Suh actually knows where he SHOULD BE playing and Coyle has no clue. As others have mentioned, and I mentioned this on the other forum a while ago, Coyle AND OTHERS should have been fired along with Sherman.

Prior performance has nothing to do with current performance. He hasn't played up to his contact. 3 tackles in 2 games for a DT in the middle is pretty lame. Suh a lot of the times was matched up with only one guy blocking and he got beat on most of them. The problem is that he's suppose to be the run stopper on that DL along with Mitchell and neither has done anywhere close to what they showed in preseason. Jacksonville gave up the 3rd most sacks last year so we should of had a butt load of sacks and we came out with ZERO!!

With this DL we should have blitzed all day long, Bortles was sacked 5 times last week, Dolphins sacked him a big fat goose egg.....

Hey, this is the same DC that allowed the jesters to run all day up the middle and give Gina a perfect day playing ball....there has to be more going on than we are seeing on Sunday.....

Probably didn't Suh long to figure out our coaches are doormats after 2 practices. Suh's got the money and power, so if he doesn't respect you he's going to do what he wants to do.

Suh was paid to become a leader on the defense side. If being a leader is telling his teammates to play whatever position you want then how is that helping the defense. Whether he likes the scheme or not, he doesn't need to become a cancer and go against what the coaches are asking him to do. Ross pays him to do what the coaches say and for him to do what Suh wants to do is not the way to gain respect among your teammates. It's a team effort, not an individuals. I will agree though that I think Coyle has lost control of his defense from Suh doing what he wants to Vernon losing his cool causing his team basically the ball game with his uncontrollable temper. He should know better not to push back cause he would be the one flagged. Just stupid and not well disciplined!!

You sign a mad bull in the china shop and expect him to be civilized? This is Wallace 2.0 only Suh is DL. We better hire someone Suh respects or NO ONE for any money will sign again. This boarder line Grease fire franchise again!

I knew it was a bad idea from the beginning.. 114 mil later and my position hasn't changed...

The Dolphins gave Ndamukong Suh a six-year, $114 million contract but so far he has just three tackles and is reportedly creating confusion for the Miami defense.

When you pay one player that amount of money the rest of the players around him are going to resent him. Why help when your getting a fraction of pay compared to him.. Way out of balance and it creates friction...

Last year Suh made a fraction of that, he performed and then he got paid. That's how it works and all the other players know it. They want him to help them look good so they can get paid. They want and need him to perform more than we do.

                  • #14
I don't really think that is the case per say. The NFL is a business and the players know that when you perform at a high level like Suh has the past years, they know they'll get the big paychecks. I don't think it causes friction between players. They know they have to play hard if they want that big pay day. If anything, it should make them work harder to prove themselves so when it comes time they can make a case for that huge payday. The players know their roles and I don't think they hate Suh cause he makes quadruple more then them.

How about because the other teams are watching and if or should I say when your contract comes up and you wish to try free agency, you won't have any offers if you're known for being a slacker on the field.

Not only do you work hard, but you have a guy like Suh next to you giving you the opportunity to shine even more, you already look good, now just perform and collect a big paycheck.....
