  • Head coach candidates

any one have any good candidates in mind? Because Philbin is gone. Mark my words. Everything about this team is bland and vanilla, including our QB. What a shame. I went from being so excited about this season, and the young talent to completely disgusted - AGAIN.

How did this franchise get so bad? Where is this bad karma coming from?

All I know is Ross will be looking for a proven big name. Maybe he will offer Jon Gruden an offer he can't refuse.

Gruden is not coming back to coaching. He makes over $4m a year at ESPN...why come back to the cluster that is Miami???

My money is on Eric Mangini.

I think Gruden has been away from the game too long. I have no idea how it is all going to play out but it appears this staff has its days numbered

Here are some names I would love to have in Miami. Josh McDaniels, Greg Roman, Gus Malzahn, Adam Gase. We lost on a few good ones last year in Todd Bowles, Dan Quinn to name a couple. This organization has no clue starting at the top with Ross. After 3 years of no playoffs, you shouldn't get another chance.

I wanted Kubiack when Houston hired him and I wanted him last year. I think Tannehill could be very good in his system. I don't think Malzahn translates to an NFL coach. I am not sure who I would want at this point.

If Ross and/or the front office hires Mangini or McDaniels I will NOT be following the Miami Dolphins during their short tenure. Neither one of these idiots will accomplish more than Philbin. Mangini would only be a candidate because of Tannenbaum and that would be a HORRIBLE hire. McDaniels is a loose cannon and he DESTROYED the Broncos when he got there, getting rid of talented players because of his massive ego.

If I were the owner of the Dolphins I would make the strongest push for Gruden. I would make him the highest paid head coach in the NFL. I believe he could motivate this talented team. My only "issue" with this hire would be that he would want total control over personnel and I have a feeling he likes Tannehill, and if I were the owner I would have to trump his opinion on that front. We could keep him around but I would let Gruden know that I would be actively pursuing other, better options. Another name that I might consider is David Shaw. Other college ranked coaches may pop up in the next few months but as of right now his names stands out to me.

Mangini is not just Tannebaum's BFF, but he has a history with Aponte and a relationship with Ross. When Ross makes a change I would almost BOOK Mangini as the choice.

Most people know that Mangini might be on a short list of candidates because of his relationship with Tannenbaum but when you add in Aponte's name and Ross' names doesn't really instill confidence in any fan who wants to have a winning team. These are not people that anybody respects and they are not going to be able to give ringing endorsements for Mangini. These are New York people and Aponte's endorsement matters to nobody outside that front office. If Mangini is hired I will not be the only long time Dolphins fan to abandon ship. Mangini's record as a coach SUCKS!! He has never stayed anywhere more than two years, excluding his 4 years with the Patriots when he was their DB coach. This would be a TERRIBLE choice for the next Dolphins head coach. If hired, there will be another REBUILD in 2018.

At this point we normally look stupid talking about HC candidates after game 2 but in the case of Philbin we have every right!!!

Can you PLEASE find other leaves because these leaves lead me to believe we are in for more misery and another quick coaching change. AHA

Is there anyone in the college ranks that you like, Nole? (Coaching candidates)

Agreed....... Not sure how we could do worst than the last 2 guys - one was Parcells coffee and piss boy in Dallas and the other was McCarthy's spell checker in GB. I'm won't be excited IF Mangini ends up being the guy, but this team has too much talent for the results of the past 2 seasons. Mangini is the current DC of the 9ers. He should be able to get better results from this group on both sides of the ball than Philbin and Coyles.
