Now, it's quite obvious that Kevin Coyle and his play-calling is the reason our defense sucks. We never should have let Nolan go. Coyle is as much of a cancer to this team as Sherman was two years ago.

Can't disagree with this. This defense is too passive, and we do not have the talent to cover if there is no pressure on the QB.

What happened to our $114 million DT? How can we be no better? Something tells me it's not the talent.

What frustrates me the most is that when our defense is supposed to have the advantage when we have teams in 3rd and long situations thats when our defense sucks the most. We have to lead the NFL in letting opposing offenses convert 3rd and long situations.

I think we've sunk to the point that Joe needs to get on the phone and bring back Defensive Coordinator Tom Olivadotti.

There is a trend here, the defense has gotten worse every year since Nolan left

Coyle has already lost his defense...Phibin will lose the team shortly...WOW, and only two games in....gonna be a LONGGGGGGGGG season.

According to Pro Football Focus, the Dolphins generated 15 quarterback hurries on Sunday --- including six by Earl Mitchell, three by Derrick Shelby and two by Vernon --- but not a single one of them materialized into a sack.
There have been some extenuating circumstances: Vernon was limited to 30 snaps against Washington because of an ankle injury and Wake played just 15 of 73 snaps Sunday because the Dolphins apparently didn’t believe he was particularly effective after dealing with a hamstring earlier in the week.
The Dolphins said Wake was not injured Sunday and Wake said afterward that any questions about his lack of playing time should be directed to the coach. Hmmmm.
We’ll post Dolphins news, thoughts and reaction in this space all day, sifting through the wreckage of this unacceptable 23-20 loss to Jacksonville, so check back frequently: 4:20 p.m.: The Dolphins have traded cornerback Will Davis to Baltimore, a Davis associate confirmed. The Dolphins received a seventh draft pick in...

How many sacks have the Dolphin's mighty D had this year, 1, that's it, by Phillips....

How many times was Bortles sack last week, 5 times, and we couldn't touch him once....

Suh was the highest signing this offseason for a reason. He is NOT a Wallace type of signing, Suh actually is one of the best at his position. So, if he is going off-book and has lost faith in Coyle defensive scheme, after just two games, others will follow and a coup d'etat is on the horizon. Who wants to play their hearts out for a coach they know is incompetent.

And when we do get sacks(2 more) they get negated by stupid penalties.

Coaching starts with respect and if you can't establish that by the time you play actual games then what good are our coaches. With that said we have no choice but to ride out the season. We missed out on Bowles big time!

Fire Philbin now. If you do not, then the season will at best be 8-8. Promote Lazor and hope he can at least salvage something of this year. If not, then you should have a replacement lined up as soon as the season ends. But there is no excuse for barely beating the 5th worst team from last year and then losing to the 3rd worst team from last year. We are regressing.

A candidate that might be available who would be better than Philbin who I haven't seen mentioned is Marriuci. He's been out of the league a little while but might be an option. Unfortunately, I don't think Gruden is coming back to coaching.

Unless something drastically changes from what we've seen, this train wreck wont sniff 8-8. I only see 2-3 more wins on the schedule the way things are.

Alpha, normally, I'd say the Fins will win some meaningless games at the end of the year...as Tanny, at this rate will be gone by game 5-6, if not sooner.
However...and it's a BIG however, the merde is about to hit the fan, and as Jumpy Joe has no problem throwing folks off the bus,...well, not as bad as Al Golden there, Coyle will be gone at the bye week, assuming the Fins bad D continues...to be replaced my Mark D'Onofrio. KIDDING.

I never would have thought it POSSIBLE to have the talent we have, and produce an INFERIOR defense! Coyle has done the impossible!
