  • Jonas Grey and Sam Brenner cut also

Miami has brought McClendon back, brought Stoneburner up from the PS (not a good sign for Sims) and added Raheem Mostert from the Eagles PS. Surprised about Grey a little bit but Mostert was impressive during the preseason and looked good returning kicks.

I wish they'd make up their minds on Grey.

I wonder if Jonas Gray is just a basket case off the field. He ran for about 200 yards and then got benched and never really saw the field again. Then he had a really good preseason for the Patriots and they cut him. There must be something wrong with this kid that doesn't show up on game tape. Lazy? Attitude problem? There must be something. Maybe he pulled a Heath Evans and gave up the Patriots playbook?

Dolphins are resigning RB Jonas Gray to practice squad after 3 days on 53-man roster, per his agent, Sean Stellato.

Now I'm really scratching my head. WTF??

Well, I read the "Optimistic" fans on this forum talk highly of Tannehill after the worst performance of his NFL career. But, even those people haven't really been singing the praises of the coaching staff. What does that mean? The "Realists" and the "Optimists" think this coaching staff doesn't have a clue so these strange moves really shouldn't shock us I guess.

The contrary to "optimist" is "pessimist" not "realist". That insinuates that the pessimist is right based in reality.

I looked up Raheem Mostert and I guess he lead the league in rushing from the line of scrimmage, during the preseason, but I think the Dolphins brought him in to run back kicks.

I hate to "ASSUME" anything but this is my thinking as well.

It's my opinion there are three types of fans, optimists, pessimists and realists. The "realists" are not correct about everything, of course, but they are not overly optimistic thinking that everything their favorite team and/or player does is great, and at the same time they are not overly negative either, they just seem to be somewhere in the middle, seeing the good and the bad. It's just my own lingo I guess. It's like reading the forum and after a HORRIFIC game played by Tannehill a "optimistic" person will still say he played great because he made a couple good throws. The pessimist will say that Tannehill sucks, that we desperately need to find his replacement and the Dolphins are going to lose the next 10 games now. But, there is the "realists" who thinks Tannehill had a horrible game, is fully aware that Tannehill threw some nice passes to one of his tight ends and others, but overall thinks that he can do much better and more than likely will do better as the season progresses. Again, it's just a lingo thing, no offense intended to anyone.

Thanks for clearing that up, by definition then, I'm a realist.

You are a Born Again Realist now that you are FINALLY seeing Tannehill through my eyes and KellBail's eyes.

I've always seen the faults bud, I just never saw a game as bad as yesterday. His placement of the ball was worse then I've ever seen it. He had some decent throws but most seemed to be way off. I'm hoping it was just opening game jitters after expectations were set so high for him.

Why don't we sign Knowshon Moreno? I think he is still available. We could probably sign him for the veterans minimum. We need a physical RB. Miller is all finesse. Williams is a 3rd down pass receiving back. I am not really impressed with James.

Even if Moreno only gives us a half a season we will get Ajayi back in the middle of the season.

Moreno is technically still a Dolphin. The few reports on him show him "injured". But I agree with you, he was quite a spark against NE in game one last year.

Here's a realist perspective. If 22/34 226 1TD 0INT and a fumble and a WIN is the worst game of our starting QB's life then we could do hell of a lot worse.

P.s. I haven't seen anyone today say anything about Tannehill having a good game or even talking highly of him in yesterday's game..

Some of the blame has to go to the o-line as well, he was hurried a lot. But I'm with you, I'll take an ugly win like yesterday any time. I remember a game against the Jets, Marino threw for over 500 yards, as did Ken O'Brien and the Dolphins lost!

I remember that game too. 51-45 NYJ in OT. Both defenses were so piss-poor I knew that whoever won the coin toss in OT was going to win that game.
