  • Would You Make The Trade ?

You've all heard the news that the Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is going to have foot surgery today and is going to miss at least 4-6 weeks. The Cowboys are in a WIN NOW year, I mean, these guys can taste it and the clock is ticking on Romo and Witten.

SO...............since the Dolphins have a plethora or wide receivers AND the Cowboys have a plethora of offensive lineman, would you be willing to give up one of our top " toys " to help improve the Dolphins offensive line?

If so, who would you be willing to trade and for whom would you like to trade for ??

No question I would be willing to make a trade. I wouldn't let Landry or Parker go.....other than that, let's talk.

I am with you. Wouldn't trade Parker or Landry for anyone, let alone an O-Lineman.

I honestly dont think we have anyone that would fill that role for the Cowboys... Maybe Parker?

I love Landry but he and Dez are two different types of receiver, Dez is a big, physical, outside #1. Landry is a smaller, quick, inside master. I also doubt they would be high on bringing in Parker. trading foot injury for foot injury.

Also on that note, could we afford to lose Landry? Parker hasnt played yet so maybe since we havent seen his impact but losing Landry would be devastating for the offense I think.

Landry and Parker stay, Jennings is too old, so that leaves Stills or Matthews. I'd trade either one of those two preferably Stills. NOT SURE yet what Stills "Could" mean to this offense but I KNOW what this line means to this offense.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

Matthews and Stills have no value to anyone but us. If you could mesh them together you might get a WR that Dallas would actually consider trading for, but separately they are not enough to make them give up a talented O lineman...

Stills kind of seems lost on the Dolphins roster doesn't he? Once Parker comes back it almost seems like Stills in the odd man out. Matthews is a totally different receiver than Landry and Parker but Still seems like he is similar to both. Why not TRY and trade Kenny Stills, who the Dolphins gave up a 3rd round pick for, and see if the Cowboys are desperate enough to give up someone by the name of Collins, or someone similar on that o-line?

I would part with Stills. No way do I get rid of Landry or Parker. Even if Jennings wern't so old I'd keep him forthe Locker room influence. I like Mathews and would perfer to keep him over Stills. But if it took Mathews to make the trade happen I could live with it.

Matthews is probably closer to what they would be looking for but like you, I'd prefer Stills first. Matthews is a changed player and I like what I've seen from him so far this year.

I would ideally like to give them Stills, mainly because I don't think he is going to be a good fit in this offense. I think Stills could be a very good WR for the Cowboys. I wish we didn't make the trade with the Saints for Stills giving up our 3rd round pick. There were some good players available to us in the 3rd round who could have helped us a lot more than him. His salary is very low so the salary cap ramifications will be minimal.

Now they probably would not give us one of their starting o-linemen but if we could get one of their top reserve o-lienemen then I would absolutely make the trade. Maybe La'el Collins or Chaz Green who was their 3rd round pick.

That would work for me.... At worst we get some much needed depth. But we probably get a starting guard.

Stills and Dion Jordan for Lael Collins and a 7th rounder.

I would make that trade in a heartbeat. I don't even need the 7th rounder back.

If they took Jordan we would probably have to give them a pick.

If we were close maybe but since we have many holes like oline, linebacker, etc its not going to make any difference. Play the status quote, see how the rookies play, draft entirely on defense, get a couple of oline in free agency, finish 500 , and hopefully Tanny will improve pocket awareness in season 5.

Its sounding like the Dez Bryant injury might linger longer than expected. If thats the case then the Cowboys might seriously be looking to trade for a WR. If they would like to have Kenny Stills and they are wiling to part with La'el Collins then I would absolutely make that trade. I have a feeling that Stills much like Wallace is not going to be a good fit with Tannehill.

This thread might be irrelevant because OTHER TEAMS saw the opportunity and jumped on it. I believe it was the Raiders who are one of the teams to make a move and trade some WR I have never heard of to the Cowboys for a late round draft pick. I think there may have been one or two other teams involved too. MAYBE the Cowboys would be willing to make a bigger trade for a well known and established player like Stills or Matthews but it seems as though this mediocre coaching staff THINKS they have everything they need to save their jobs on this current roster.
