  • Phins Cut Logan Thomas & McClendon

They are adding Brenner and Jonas Gray to the roster in their place. They may add Logan to the practice squad. Now, their waiver claim makes sense. They did not plan on putting him on the roster but, wanted to stash him for a bit until teams set their rosters.

That's what I'm thinking. Since he was cut, Miami can now put him on the PS if another team doesn't claim him on waivers or he just sucked. Since Hickey seemed so high on him I'm going with PS where he belongs.

I don't get it. It is my understanding that we claimed him off waivers so we had to put him on the active roster. Only two reasons to do that. A you are afraid someone else would claim him off waivers so you couldn't wait for him to clear waivers and be signed as a free agent to your practice squad. B you really wanted him on your active roster. To sign him off waivers, put him on your active roster only to cut him and return him back through waivers in hoping he would now clear everyone else so you could then sign him to your practice squad makes no sense to me. Why not just let him clear through waivers the first time and then sign him to your practice squad if that's where you wanted him??? Looks like to me someone wanted him on the active roster and then changed their mind after they saw him in person. Maybe a wildcat QB option for 2 point or red zone plays? Whatever the plan was, I am pretty sure this wasn't it.

I think Sobe is on to something as we claimed him until all the other teams set their rosters and PS.
