  • Dolphins Sign Jonas Gray

    To Their Practice Squad.

Dolphins signed RB Jonas Gray to the practice squad.

It's been a long, hard fall for Gray since his 201-yard performance against the Colts last November. The 25 year old had a strong preseason, so he might not have to wallow on the practice squad for long. Miami has shaky running back depth behind starter Lamar Miller.

Funny, I am used to the Patriots singing our castoffs to learn our system. Maybe we are getting smarter. By the way am I the only one who feels that RB might be one of our deepest positions?

If we still had Gillislee and Ajayi were healthy I would agree with you. I think Williams is a journeyman and LaMike hasn't quite hit a stride in the back field, but he shows promise and I am glad he is our return guy and would feel okay with him at RB.

We shall see if he is actually consistently good. Last years 200 yards? Oline!
The deeper the roots, the higher the reach.

In the fantasy league that I run I drafted Gray as my sleeper. I thought with Blount missing games that Gray might take over the job.

        LeGarrette Blount - 125 Rushes - 547 Yards - 5 touchdowns -

        Jonas Gray - 89 Rushes - 412 Yards - 5 Touchdowns -

There's something about him that Belichick doesn't like. I read somewhere that he was late to a meeting or slept during a meeting and then he was benched, forever, even after having a HUGE game.

I liked Gray and thought he ran hard. Like Freak said he got in Billy boys doghouse. I think he could add value to our backs.

Dolphins promoted RB Jonas Gray to the active roster.

He was added to the Dolphins' practice squad earlier this week after going unclaimed on waivers. If Gray suits up Sunday against the Redskins, he won't see more than few snaps behind workhorse Lamar

Great move by the Dolphins here!! I think Gray would have been snatched up if they didn't add him to their 53 man roster. With the injury to Ajayi this was a move that was somewhat easy to predict.

They also promoted Brenner to the active roster and have released Logan Thomas and Jacques McCledon. Read they are hoping to sign Thomas to the practice squad.
