Some Phans are concerned over our cap next year, and there is no reason to be. Projecting ahead, we will be roughly $5M over next year's cap but, have all kinds of options to deal with that overage. Here's a listing of some of the potential savings to start with.
Jordan- Unless there is a Miraculous Resurrection, he will be gone and save us $3M
Jennings- Would cost $5.5M or save $4M. Due to age and money cannot imagine keeping him.
Cameron- Would cost $9.5M or save $7.5M. If he plays well, we give him a new deal which should cost around $4M first year, saving $5.5M or, move on and save $7.5M..
With these three moves, in addition to the expected roll over of $7-8M, it totals at least $20M, which leaves us $15M.
Re-signing OV and Miller IMO will cost around $7-8M their first year with signing bonus, etc IF we want to do that, we would still have enough for Shelby, back up QB, the draft @ about $3M.
This is Option #1. IF this team wins a playoff game, and we want to keep the band together, we can do so with making very few moves.
Option #2 follows.
