I especially like the part about the exchange between Jennings and Jamar Taylor.

That is a real team leader.... Something we have lacked in the past. With Jennings and Wake and apparently Suh also, to lead this young guys we could be watching the start of something special....βIt is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.β β Mark Twain👍 1 -
Yeah I agree completely. We haven't had any real leaders since Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor. I also believe Tannehill will step up and be a leader this season. We need some guys that will rally the others when there is adversity. We could have won some of the close games last year with that type of leadership. Can we sign this guy?Comment

I also think a very important aspect here is that in order to get some respect from these young guys, you have to give them a little respect first. What does it cost a player like Jennings to throw a little respect in the direction of Taylor? For us older guys, this applies to business and life in general. Younger people strive for a little recognition and respect in your world, give of it freely, it gains you much and costs you little.

Great article. By the end of this season, you will probably hear more than one person saying Jennings only caught 32 balls this year, that was a wasted roster spot. But these are the inside peeks into a football team that tell the real story. Some may anticipate Jenning's impact on the young receivers on this team, but this is a great example of how braod a good veterans impact can be on the entire team. This is the kind of player I want Suh to become. He is the dominant physical player, now he needs to become that team leader that young players listen to because they respect him and aspire to become his level of player. He has a platform from which he can take this defense and team to a championship level. These are the types of impacts the highest paid player should make to earn his keep.👍 1Comment

I've seen and heard a lot of VG things on this teams leadership from mini camps to now. Jennings on helping Parker, Landry, and Stills, no specific mention of Matthews or Hazel but sure they were included. Tannehill has taken over the overall leadership on O, with Pouncey and Albert on the OL. This is new and improved from last year.
On D there is Suh, and Jenkins is taking a bigger role this year. We will sorely miss Delmas in this regard, and do not know if anyone can take his place. Jones and Grimes are not the "leader type" you would like to have, and Aikens has a very tough task in trying to QB the secondary in addition to worrying about himself as a first time starter.👍 1Comment
