  • Biggest concern at this point

My biggest concern at this point I think is the linebacker play. The offensive line used to be my big concern but they seem to be coming together to a passable unit. I think we will need to upgrade the unit this off season, but it looks like we should be OK for now. But I have not really seen much impact from our starting unit who I thought would be everywhere with that DLine in front of them. The safeties are making the plays. Now when the back ups are in Virgil is making plays. But the starters I think may be a weakness for us. Where this may impact us is going to be on Screens, pass coverage on the TE and RBs, etc. It is something to watch.

I agree LBs are concern. I am not sold on the secondary either. Seems they are getting beat in preseason and I am still not convinced that the guard play is starting NFL caliber. So hard to tell in preseason, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of running room through the first two games. The runs that Miller has had has been moves he has made like bouncing to the outside etc.

My biggest concern is tackle and LT to be more specific. I am not sure how close Albert is but with Fox getting a concussion I am not sure what the options are. I don't want to see Albert forced back if he's not ready but man, that just makes me nervous.

I am not as worried about the LB's as I think we will see a lot of 2 LB sets with Jones playing in the box.

Great point. I think we are all assuming that Albert will be back and ready to go. If not then the OLine grade drops significantly. I am also a little concerned that Stills and Parker, two key players just have not had much time on the field. This offense is predicated on timing and they are behind.

One of my concerns is all the new players. There is no way everyone is on the same page yet. I expect some miscommunication to start the year until they get enough reps.

Yeah, I would like to see Parker and Stills in there but, I think Landry, Jennings, and Matthews can hold it down until they get that timing. Matthews is looking good and he and Landry really spent a lot of time with Tannehill in the off-season. If they can keep Tannehill on his feet I expect big numbers from him.

The Oline hands down. Fox was bad and injured now(again), Albert was still doing some limping last week, Turner was below average and Thomas was ok(better than I thought he would be), but above all we NO DEPTH, NONE.

After seeing and hearing how bad our Backup QB's are, I'd say my biggest concern is Tanny possibly getting injured. If he goes down we are going to be in a world of hurt. my 2 cents.

To tell you the truth there aren't many teams that if they lost the starter for more than a game or two it wouldn't put them out of it.

Very true Nole and actually our Backups could probably start for some teams such as the Jets or Bills but we're relying on MM who was a pretty good Backup four years ago but hasn't had any playing time in the last three years except pre-season where he has not looked good at all. I was hoping Freeman could maybe be the same guy he was his first year with Tampa but it's not looking very promising there either. We won't even discuss MBT except to say "Are you kidding me"?? I used to feel comfortable with our QB situation but not this year. Loving how RT is playing and Praying he can still take a hit because there is no one behind him to step up.

Yeah, I con't understand Freeman. He looked so promising his rookie year but his fall from grace reminds me of how fast David Duval fell...It's just kinda like he's got the yips. m

I think Matt More is still the real deal as a back up. It's really hard to tell when he plays with the scrubs in preseason. And I am sure it would take a little time for him to synch up with the #1s. As big a blow as it would be for us to lose RT, I think Matt Moore is one of the best backup QBs in the league. He also would have the advantage of a great D and a lot of talent surrounding him. As for Freeman..... who knows?? Head case?? His problem is not a lack of talent, so what is his problem?

If we were talking four years ago, I'd absolutely agree with you that MM is one of the best backup QB's you could find. This is now though and he's four years removed from playing any meaningful games and each year his preseason showing has looked less and less impressive to me. I can pray that you are 100% correct here but it does little to allay my fears that his best years are way behind him.

LT and G positions is a concern at this point and most seem to agree on that but I'm also concerned with our DB rotation along with RB's and QB's as a group.. Were lacking Depth all over the place.. I won't bring up Coaching since I am at Rookie" status..
