  • We are a young team

We have 18 combined rookie and 2nd year players on our roster. D Williams, J Ajayi, J Landry, D Parker, M Hazel, J James, B Turner, J Douglas, T Fede, J Phillips, C McCain, Z Vigil, N Hewitt, W Aikens, B McCain, T Lippett, A Franks, M Darr. It could have been 20 players since I thought Hull should have made the roster instead of Paysinger and Johnson should have made the roster instead of Mosley.

We are very young, and that is a good thing. However, three critical players in Grimes, Albert, and Wake (best players after Suh and RT) are not. They are key to contending this year and next year. We have added many good, young players but, not stars other than Tannehill.

I cringe when thinking of what could have been with Vonte, Smith, and if Jordan and Martin had worked out. I know it's crying over spilled milk but damn, that coulda been special.

Back to reality. IF two of the three can maintain their level of play, we will be in good shape. Suh, along with Shelby and Fede. makes it much easier for Wake. Turner in a year may be OK if Albert falls. Don't know if that can be said for Grimes.

Agree on all points. Every team has regrets over misses on players. Live, learn, and keep moving forward. And yes, got to have those key vets to help offset the youth and inexperience. Hoping we stay healthy and get those 10 wins this season.

Its true that Grimes Albert and Wake are getting up there in age. Hopefully we can get a couple more years out of each of them. They are in their early 30s so they could all still play at a high level for another 2 years. We could potentially replace one of them next year with our first round draft pick.

I know what you mean about Vontae Davis. If he had not been so immature we would not have traded him and we would have the best DB tandem in the NFL with Grimes and Davis. I still have high hopes for Jamar Taylor, he just needs to stay healthy. The Jordan fiasco was really a waste when you think about it we should have 2 good young players entering their prime years if not for Ireland's decision to trade up for Jordan.

I saw Sam Madison on Finsiders. He has worked with Taylor, and as a former VG CB knows a great deal on him. He said he has all the tools to be a VG CB, ready to show his stuff this year IF, IF he can stay healthy. IMO, his health is very important this year. I'm not sold on other option for this year.

We are young, but have a good mix of Vets on the team. This season has a good chance to be special.
