  • Dolphins Bad News- Off Season

I posted a good news thread, and a bad news one is only fair.

IYO, what was the Bad News from this Dolphins off season?

Delmas going down was a loss.

Not shoring up the O line depth is hopefully not the one that bites us in the butt.

For me it was not signing a quality CB in FA when there were options, although pricey. Grimes is aging and Taylor just cannot stay healthy.

Along the same line, I would have taken the CB in the second instead of trading him. I like Phillips but, was wanting a CB more.

Delmas will be missed, leadership as much or more than play.

My jury is still out on the OL. I did not see great options to sign, and looking forward to see what the young guys can do.

LSU guy chooses Dallas over us. I think I blocked his name out of my mind.
Just frolic and live in the now like Dolphins and Man's best friend.

When somebody cough cough Jerry Jones hands you a briefcase full of "persuasion" in a limo you kind of think differently.

I thought we should have spent our last draft pick on Collins just to lock up his rights. Lippett isn't going to see the field anyway. Take a chance on securing a 1st round talent with a 6th round pick.

My biggest complaint is we didn't find a star LB to bolster that group and lead the D. I think we need a Zach Thomas in the middle - and if we had one, we could be a legitimate contender at this point.

Agreed. I wanted Perryman in the 2nd round.

Me too - we already had 2 good young DTs in Francis and Johnson....thought we needed LB a lot worse.

All very legit. I am a little encouraged by the better than expected performance of guys like Vigil, Luc, Hull, Douglas and Philips. It makes me less concerned about the OL and LB groups. Still concerned, but not as much.

I really like Vigil and Hull....and see potential in Luc and Hewitt. They're just not ready yet. I think a couple of them will be starters one day - but we need that help now.

Vigil & Hull I think could be the future at the MLB spot for years to come.

Absolutely zero depth behind RT. MBT and Freeman both looked horrible and will be cut if they haven't been already and Moore looks even worse. He has gone down hill the last three pre seasons running and hasn't played any meaningful ball in 4 years. He's made a fortune off of holding a clip board and the distant memory that he "Used" to be a really good backup. Tanny gets hurt which is likely considering he's the most sacked QB in the entire NFL and we are soooooooo screwed.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

Bad news... after getting poor TE contribution last season, we exchanged an injury prone TE in Clay for another injury prone TE in Cameron, who is a concussion away from retiring, and we are banking on Albert, our injury prone left tackle, coming back off a season ending knee injury and being able to play at a high level. His backup, Fox, is also injury prone and our depth for the position is a swing guard in Dallas Thomas, who most fans hate. lol...
