Regarding Foster, the Dolphins are just being cautious. Nothing to be alarmed about.

Read that first thing this morning and thought we're already starting off the season in mid-season form...

Foster starting on PUP is understandable as he obviously isn't 100 % after the achilles injury suffered in the game against us last season, we also knew Howard would be placed on the PUP after hearing he was going to miss all of camp/preseason after getting his knee scoped (Very unfortunate and similar to last season when DeVante missed the whole preseason, just a HUGE blow when young guys are trying to come in, learn a system and establish themselves) Not sure what happened to Bobby Mac, but it really sucks for him to land on the PUP; kind of counting on him to man the nickel spot....

Yeah, discouraging to read about Bobby Mac and the others... hoping none of these are anything serious or lingering.

PUP list adds some drama to camp early. Vigil absence opens some reps for young MLBs. Damien Williams helping Daniel Thomas' chances. Lippett gets a much needed extra workload.
McCain will be right back so nothing there. Fun, fun, fun.

Problem is, added drama is the last thing a team like the Fins needs early in camp!!!

Vigil on the PUP opens up reps for young LB's?? He is one of those young LB's & needs all the reps he can get.! Damien Williams helping DT's chances?? Last thing any sane Fin fan should be hoping for is anything that would lend itself to helping Daniel Thomas make this team (YET AGAIN!) Lippett gets a much needed extra workload?? Could be a good thing as we're all hoping he can transition into a solid NFL Corner; UNFORTUNATELY it's not a good thing when it comes at the hand of one of our top draft choices getting hurt - We could ill afford to have Howard miss any time &he's now missing it ALL (All of camp and the whole preseason!) We can only hope McCain will be right back..All i know is that he was having a very solid first year when he went down with a concussion and never looked good again...

It's just all so DOLPHINS, sigh-h-h....

Thing I'm most pissed about is Williams ending up on PUP due to showing up out of shape and failing his conditioning test. That's what Kelly was referring to as helping DT's chances of sticking.

Vigil had a minor back issue with his back stiffening up. He and Bobby Mac will be back in a day or two.

I think it's pathetic when guys show up out of shape, especially a young dude fighting for a roster spot..Just no excuse for it! Yeah, didn't mean to imply that Kel wanted DT to stick,, just wanted to emphasize that we should all hope that he doesn't. IMO if DT makes this roster it doesn't speak very higfhly of our backfield talent...

Good to hear that Vigil & BMac's issues seem minor, but i'm of the opinion that neither can afford to lose any time..i'm also of the opinion that 'minor' back issue to an NFL LBer seems like an oxymoron...

It is 8:50 a.m. and the Miami Dolphins are on the practice field. The offseason is no more. The countdown to Seattle has begun. Exactly one hour and fifty-two minutes later, it is over. One training camp practice down, 14 more to come until it is officially over. What did we learn on Day 1? What did we see? What’s happening off the field? Let’s take a closer look.

            • It is hard to grade a practice, especially one without pads. But everything seemed to go smoothly. There was definitely a high level of energy out there, which you would certainly expect on the first day. “We do everything fast,” said receiver Jarvis Landry. “Really like it that way.”

Speaking of Gase, he isn’t the type of coach who stands in the middle of the field for two hours, with his arms crossed, as practice unfolds. He interacts. He mingles. He asks questions. He shadows receivers. He is literally all over the place. “Today I was asking some of the defensive players about what the offense was doing,” Gase said.

Even on the first day of practice, Jarvis Landry looks so comfortable, catching everything thrown his way. For those keeping score, the first offensive play of the first practice was a quick pass from Tannehill to Landry. No surprise there.

            • Sometimes when rookie blur Jakeem Grant has the ball in his hands, it’s almost unfair to the defensive guy trying to stay with him. He’s just too quick, too shifty.

            • There was a lot of red zone offense work the first day. Got a feeling we’re going to see a lot of that this summer.

            • Great to see a training camp begin with veteran tackle Branden Albert 100 percent healthy. It’s been too long.

            • And finally, you should have seen the expression on the faces of two very young boys when defensive end Chris McCain emerged from the locker room with two brand new bright orange gloves and handed one to each. To me, those are the training camp memories that never go away.

            Chris Perkins@chrisperk
DT Deandre Coleman here but appears not to be practicing

            Chris Perkins@chrisperk
Interested 2 c if Laremy Tunsil lines up w/1st team today. Adam Gase making youngsters earn their spots. No free lunch.

            Chris Perkins@chrisperk
Kinda like TE Dominque Jones. Big guy at 6-3, 275. But tuff position to get on roster. Loaded with vets.

Branden Albert just took off his knee brace. Let us see how long that lasts. Coaches force him to practice with it.

            Chris Perkins@chrisperk
CB Jordan Lucas should get extended look at nickel w/Bobby McCain sidelined. Think Lucas 2nd team behind Michael Thomas

            Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
T'hill seems very confident in what he's doing (drops, reads, throws). Think Gase was right about T'hill's mental game

            Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
Not yet sold on DeVante Parker but gotta admit the kid looks good. Just wanna see it for entire season, that's all.

            @FLSportDebater
Just saw Grant drop a pass in drills. That was a concern for him

            Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
Gotta say this for the record...LT Sam Young is a big MoFo. Listed at 6-8, 315. He's Bryant McKinnie-type big. Huge.

            Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
S Walt Aikens intriguing. Good size, good on special teams. But mired in logjam at safety. I think the kid can play tho

            Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
My camp sleeper is DT Chris Jones. Effective in OTAs and minicamp, effective yesterday. Look for him on 53-man roster

            Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
Still undecided on TE Jordan Cameron. Good player, talented. But probably not repeat Pro Bowl guy.

            Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
I've watched Jakeem Grant for weeks now. He's not a sure catcher. He fights the ball from time to time.

Michael Thomas is again the nickel with Bobby McCain on PUP.

            Max Himmelrich ‏@HimmelrichNFL
Laremy Tunsil is currently lined up at left tackle with Ryan Tannehill at QB. Very interesting.

Arian Foster is bigger than I expected. Probably 2nd biggest tailback I've covered in Miami, behind Daniel Thomas.

            Max Himmelrich ‏@HimmelrichNFL

Currently: Tunsil, Thomas, Pouncey, Turner, James.

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill with a completion to WR DeVante Parker.

Michael Thomas is on day two as the starting nickel. Don't sleep on Thomas, who earns everything he gets. No handouts for him.

Laremy Tunsil is the second team left tackle for the second straight day.

            Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley
Kenyan Drake fumbles a handoff. First one of the season!

Kenyan Drake fumbled a bad exchange. Maybe blame the QB. Turnover

Jamil Douglas is working as the second team center. Yesterday Jacques McClendon got the bulk of that work.

            Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
Jermon Bushrod at RG with 2nd team. With all due respect to Billy Turner, awaiting Bushrod emergence to 1st team

Not sure DBs made many plays yesterday. That's changing a bit today. Stay tuned.

              Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley
Today: First team offense=good. Second and third teams=yuck

The quarterbacks are off today. Tons of misfired passes. It's early, but day two isn't sharp from the passing game.

              Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
A few bad plays (drops, bad reads, etc...) but still a clean 11 on 11 session. Overall, they look good today.

A fumble, dropped passes and bad throws? Your bar is low. Dolphins low.

              Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero
So first and second team offense looks terrible so far. Two fumbles, two botched snaps, incomplete passes.

              Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero
Cameron Wake, coming back from Achilles tear in '15, not working in team drills so far. Andre Branch and Mario Williams starting DEs.

              Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
Tannehill to Jordan Cameron...will we say that more than 40 times this year?

              Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
MLB Kiko Alonso looks good in pass coverage, as we've seen in past. That's a promising sign.

              Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley
Gase is running DeVante Parker HARD this week. Not holding anything back.

              Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
CB Chimdi Chekwa with nice PBU (pass break up). DBs tryin' do a lil somethin' today.

Nice breakup on a Matt Moore pass to Leonte Carroo from Chimdi Chekwa.

              Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
QB Brandon Doughty (local kid!!) nice throw to WR AJ Cruz.

AJ Cruz just beat James Burgess on a nice outside pass he gained RAC on. He's surprised me the past two days.

11 on 11...LG Dallas Thomas, RG Jermon Bushrod

I'm a little surprised that Kenyan Drake is fourth on the depth chart, behind Daniel Thomas and Isaiah Pead.

Ryan Tannehill with a QB scramble Jelani Jenkins snuffed out.

                James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL
First-down catch by WR Jarvis Landry. Good throw over the middle by QB Ryan Tannehill.

                Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
Koa Misi nice stop on Jay Ajayi. Run up middle. Good defense.

                James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL
Good run stuff by LB Koa Misi to hold RB Jay Ajayi to about a 1-yard gain. #Dolphins

Nice throw and catch from Ryan Tannehill to Jarvis Landry for a first down.

                Luis D. Sung‏ @FLSportDebater
Doughty hits Grant on an intermediate pass over the middle, burned Patmon

                Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
Prediction: DT Chris Jones does damage soon.. He's on the field. Again, he's been impressive.

Cameron Wake is working as a second team defensive end, paired with Jason Jones. Guess they are making him a situational pass rusher.

                Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero
Tannehill looking solid with completions to Landry and Stills.

Isaiah Pead is the second team back today. Daniel Thomas was yesterday.

                Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
Pead small gain. LB James Michael-Johnson good tackle...maybe 2-yard gain. Maybe.

                Max Himmelrich ‏@HimmelrichNFL
Cameron Wake not limited in movement whatsoever, but the team is being conservative with his reps in 11-on-11.

Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk 2m2 minutes ago
Neville Hewitt stops Pead at line of scrimmage. Defense doing well vs. run so far.

Jason Jones sniffed out a draw from Peads for a would-be TFL.

                Max Himmelrich ‏@HimmelrichNFL
Jordan Lucas is taking snaps at safety. He played both S and CB at Penn State.

                Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
DE Jordan Williams with stop on run play at line of scrimmage. Defense snuffing out running game fairly well.

Julius Warmsley with a would be sack of Brandon Doughty.

                Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero
I'm told Kenny Stills has been impressing coaches ever since minicamp. Continuing to do so today.

                Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk
Kenyan Drake nice moves. Might have gained 4 yards. Good run.

Nice draw run from Kenyan Drake. Guess he doesn't like working with fourth teamers.

                James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL
#Dolphins rookie QB Brandon Doughty with a nice throw in the face of pressure to WR Jakeem Grant.

                Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero
Practice sometimes so deceiving. 15-yard completion to Jakeem Grant would've been a sack and would have gotten him killed in live situation.

So we have movement at right guard, where Billy Turner is rotating with Jermon Bushrod, but no change at left guard. Just reporting facts.
