  • Lets play the W L schedule game

    Since we have about a week until training camp starts I thought it might be fun to see what everyone thinks we will do this season. Here is my prediction.

    @Seattle L

    @NE W

    CLE W

    @CIN L

    TEN W

    PIT L

    BUF W

    NYJ W

    @SD W

    @LAR W

    SF W

    @BAL L

    ARI W

    @NYJ L

    @BUF W

    NE W

    So if we do that we will be 11-5 and if we go 11-5 and sweep the Pats we might win the division. I predict that we will flip the script within the division and go from 1-5 to 5-1. I think we will tread water for awhile and be 3-3 then I think we will get on a roll around midseason and then win 3 of our final 4 games to win the division.

    @Seattle L (Road game across the country with a new coaching staff, new offensive and defensive scheme? Too much to ask of anyone)

    @NE L (I don't see Belichick losing two games in a row and I think they will lose to the Cardinals. I think he will figure out a way to exploit the Dolphins weak LB's and DB's)

    CLE W

    @CIN L

    TEN L

    PIT L

    BUF W

    NYJ L ( If Fitzpatrick is their QB, if he's not this is a W in my opinion)

    @SD W

    @LAR L

    SF W

    @BAL L

    ARI L

    @NYJ L (It still depends on Fitz. I think the Jets sweep the Dolphins with him and the Dolphins sweep them without him. He's not great, but they win with him and their WR's are good)

    @BUF L

    NE L (I think they will be fighting for a playoff spot after having a slow start without Brady so they will need to win this one. Brady will not want to lose again to the Dolphins like last season)

    4-12 or 6-10 is my prediction depending on what happens with the Jets quarterback situation.

        AHA! I love it! The ultimate super fan. I hope you're correct. This franchise needs some new memories to have a reason to start popping that champagne. I am hoping Coach Gase does something with this team that I keep HEARING they are going to do, but never seem to do it, and that is run a West Coast offense like the 49ers did in the 80's. IF Gase can get Tannehill to run that type of offense I say they can win at least 10 games.

            @Seattle is a tough, tough opening game, The Hawks look to be a dominant team this season, that and the whole West Coast thing. I HATE to predict an opening day loss, but 16 teams WILL have one...

            @New England is also a seriously tough game, with or without Marcia. Especially without having ANYTHING to base such a judgment on. The key to beating Brady has always been hit him early and often, and I imagine that will work with Garoppolo as well, and maybe, just maybe, JG will be looking past us somewhat, to their Thursday game against the Texans.

            Cleveland is Cleveland. There are "experts" who predict them to finish under .250, so that SHOULD be a good chance to add a W

            @Cinci (How do we open with 3 road games against tough teams, and the Patsies get 3 home games?) We have a good record @Cinci on Thursday nights, not that this means much, since many of the players were NOT on the team the last time we played there...

            The GOOD news is, that we have a 10 day window between the Bungles and the Titans, then with 3 consecutive home games we get to the BYE week, IF we get there with at least 4 wins, we can look toward the possibility of playoffs... .
            Discussing the 2nd half of the season at this point seems rather pointless, since we have no idea what injuries will have occurred by then...

            I hope we beat the Hell out of the Jests, and that the team stays on the West Coast between the Bolts and Rams. Winning at least 2 of these 3 games is crucial.

            Niners, Ravens and Cards will be a tough precursor to closing the season with 3 straight divisional games. Again we need at least 4 of those to end up 10-6 and in the playoffs...

              I'm thinking 8-8 or 9-7 at this point but I'd like to see how they play in pre-season before I lock in on those numbers.
              While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

                I'm still rooting for 9-7... a lot is going to ride on the OL and RB health and depth and the new defense coming together with all the new pieces. We never finish strong though.

                @Seattle L - too much defense and a hostile environment.

                @NE W - we'll have a better grasp of O and D. Expecting a defensive game.

                CLE W - meh.

                @CIN L - Cinci is a solid team.

                TEN W - Meh.

                PIT L - 50/50 game

                BUF W - 50/50 game

                NYJ W - 50/50 game.

                @SD W - we should roll

                @LAR W - meh.

                SF W - 9ers are in worse shape

                @BAL L - 50/50 here, but see us dropping it

                ARI L - Cards are a solid playoff team

                @NYJ W - fk those guys

                @BUF L - in the snow and probably pretty beat up

                NE L - Pats revenge game

                  @Seattle L (Closer game than people expect - but we just aren't that good)

                  @NE L (They will be out for blood)

                  CLE W (Browns have some talent, but will take a while to build a team)

                  @CIN W (For some reason we always match up well with them)

                  TEN W (Scrape out a win here in a battle)

                  PIT L (We get blown out of this one)

                  BUF L (Very tough, painful loss to matchup nightmare)

                  NYJ W (Close win late)

                  @SD W (Revenge game from last year's blowout)

                  @LAR L (Sloppy play costs us one we should have won)

                  SF W (49ers are rebuilding)

                  @BAL L (They just seem to have our number)

                  ARI L (Beat down loss all but ends the season)

                  @NYJ L (Jets enjoy putting the last nail in our coffin)

                  @BUF L (Late season swoon drags on)

                  NE L (Horrific end to what at points looked like a promising year)

                  6-10.....again. Tough schedule is more than a young team and rookie head coach can handle.

                    Far be it from me to disagree with another person's prediction, but you seem to alternate between the YOUNG TEAM/ROOKIE HC, and the what we've done under previous coaches AT THE END OF THE SEASON. Surely it should be one OR the other?
                    Baltimore may have had Philbin's number in previous years, just as we played poorly after Thanksgiving in all of Philbin's tenure, but the young team and rookie coach were not a part of those situations,
                    Philbin was the HC at the start of the past 4 seasons
                    Last year we were 1-3 in December, but the one W was vs Baltimore. 15-13
                    In 2014 we went 2-3 in December and lost one of those to Balt. 13-28
                    In 2013 we were 3-2 in Dec and lost to Balt in week 5 by a score of 23-26
                    2012, Philbin's first year we were 2-3 in December, but didn't lose to the Ravens...

                    The Dolphins and Ravens have squared off against each other 7 times in the past 10 years. The Dolphins have only won 2 of those games. Philbin was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins for a total of 2 of those games. Philbin isn't the problem, the Ravens have owned the Dolphins in recent history.

                  Here is how I came to my conclusions on my game picks.

                  @SEA - This is a daunting task traveling so far to a hostile environment. I just don't have any expectations that we will win this game so its one of those games you just write off as a loss.

                  @NE - Without Brady I think this will be a winnable game and hopefully we can pull it out. If we win this game it could really set the tone for a successful season.

                  CLE- Probably the easiest game on our schedule and its the home opener so we better win this game.

                  @CIN - They might be the most complete team in the AFC so it will be difficult.

                  TEN - A home game that we should win so we had better win it.

                  PIT - I think this is a winnable game but I wonder if we will go 4-0 on this home stand so I figure if we trip up once this would be the game.

                  BUF - This is a must win game if we want to be a playoff team.

                  NYJ - Again its a divisional home game that we have to win.

                  @SD - This won't be an easy game. Its seems whenever we play the Chargers the home team dominates but I think we can win.

                  @LAR - They have a stout defense and Gurley but their QB situation is shaky and there should be a lot of West Coast Dolfans there so it won't be a true road game.

                  SF - Much like the Browns game this is a game we have to win.

                  @BAL - The Ravens have been a pain in the a$$ for us and I just don't have a good feeling about this game.

                  ARI - West Coast teams generally don't fare well playing on the East Coast at 1pm.

                  @NYJ- Tough road night game. I just don't feel like we will be up to the challenge and we drop this one.

                  @BUF - I think this will be a tough game but I think the Bills won't be playing for anything at this point so they might just go through the motions.

                  NE - If we are 10-5 entering this game then it might just be for the division title or at least a playoff spot. We tend to play the Pats tough at home so lets hope it continues.

                    I am going to say 9-7, maybe a wildcard birth, but man that could easily be + or - 3 games depending on all the new parts. So 6-10 to 12-4. Not much of a prediction is it?

                      The funny thing is that you are dead on though. This team could be BAD. They could also go to the playoffs. There are SO many uncertainties. If most of them go well, Miami has a shot at a great year. If they turn up bad (like they have so often recently) we could do worse than last year's 6-10. I actually like a lot of the moves we've made...even if I am a bit negative with my record expectations.
