  • Brady petition denied - remains suspended

The U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals denied a petition by Tom Brady and the NFL Players Association to rehear his suspension case. Will he appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court?

Tom Brady's chances at overturning his four-game suspension continue to diminish.

The U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals denied a petition by Brady and the NFL Players Association on Wednesday to rehear his suspension case, meaning the New England Patriotsquarterback's last opportunity to dissolve the NFL-issued punishment would have to come in a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Three straight home games: It's rare for an NFL team to get three straight home games, and the Patriots get such a homestand right away in 2016. The three games are against two division foes and another AFC playoff team from a year ago: Miami, Houston and Buffalo. The combined record of those three teams from a year ago: 23-25.

Roger worked hard trying to insure the Patriots had an "easy" first four games.

You have to wonder if the "suspension" came into play with the schedule makers. If you're going to make them play with a back up at least do it in front of a friendly crowd.. smh

It would seem the "Cheating" continues but if you ask any Pat fan, there is no cheating we're all just haters.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

Agreed... hoping the coaching and team are up for it. The pats will be doubly motivated after we beat them our last match up and with Brady being out. I think the roster is much improved and that we should win this one.

So Brady finally accepts his suspension. He also redid his contract knowing this might be the outcome so instead of 2 mil lost for 4 games it's now like 200k. Anyway to screw the NFL and keep his pockets filled. Sorry NFL charities Brady needs to buy Gisselle more toys.

This just give the Patriots Network more reason to talk about him. I can't turn on that station without seeing a story about him or the team, with an ex-Patriot doing the talking. It's sad.

I've heard that the league has granted Brady permission to work as the head of the officiating crew for each of those four games...

It's a "win-win" for Marcia. If they win without Brady, they "rallied" for him in a SOFT segment of the season, and they start their "real season" with a decent record.
                    (3-1 is VERY possible)

If they lose without him, it proves his value, and strengthens his "legacy", and gives them built-in excuses...

I only see the positive in this. They open in Arizona. They will face a Cardinal team 100% healthy, the crowd will be fired up and Chandler Jones will be salivating to eat up the team that just traded him. Then we go there. If we're going to be a good team, we'll know early. Here's our chance to go up there and get a win in New England, knowing they will have to come down here in January. This is when we want this game, especially with no Brady. Losing this game sinks our season inmediately. No excuses. This is how we want to christen Crappola into this league. They follow by facing two tough defenses in Houston and Buffalo. I see this as a chance to pound the Pats into a 1-3 record with only 5 home games remaining for them. The Dolphins need to focus on winning early and a lot. The AFC East is our goal. If that means making our biggest foe start the race in an oil slick, so be it. All the better.
