  • Clayton will be proven wrong!

Im aware that Ross months earlier slip on tongue and blurted that Gase has 3 years to turn the Dolphins around. Yet he gave bumbling Philbin who didn't have a clue 4 miserable years. I'd say although I like Joe as a person, he was the worst coach after Cameron. Clayton is saying 3 years, a trip to the playoffs and still bye bye Gase? Harbaugh will then be plucked away from a plump Michigan job( pissing off his Alma Mater ).

If Gase creates a competitive team in the 3 year plus a playoff( however deep we go )I just don't see this scenario play out. In fact after watching Harbaugh cry and rant and tantrum year in and year out with the 9 ers I don't think it will be worth the hassle.i understand this is the slow period and writers and reporters need to be relevant in creating attention grabbers. Hopefully this is all it'll turn out to be.

Clayton is just throwing stuff at a wall to see what sticks. This was his ''projections'' for 3 years out where he's predicting what might happen.

As for Gase, he already has a better roster and is making better decisions that Philbin, who came in and gutted the team from the start. Gase is focused on being competitive this season to where Philbin just wanted to rebuild the team in his own image - which he achieved.

If we're having success under Gase, he's going no where even if we don't win a SB in the next 3 seasons.

Perfect word to describe Philbins intent "gutted" so as to in his image. Philbins probably thought he was the Packers entire organization.

Let's see if I'm reading this right, you are already worried that Ross could dump Gase in 3 years even if they make it to the playoffs? Gase hasn't even coached his 1st game yet, and you are worried that Ross may fire him in 3 years? What if he sux? 3 years could be a very long time to wait if he does suck. Please don't blow an o-ring worrying about this scenario just yet, 3 years is a long time....Remember, this is the Dolphins we're talking about, stranger things have happened.

Not really worried because if he is bad the first 2 seasons then I would cut him after that. In bad I mean 4-12/ 5-11 or worse. I do admit I like what I see so far as far as the chip he shows on his shoulders and challenging the players. Maybe this article is a good thing and may stoke his fire more.

I like Philbin as a person too. However, he proved that he wasn't a good leader. A good leader is strong and wants to surround their selves with strong people. The strong players on the Dolphins were all shipped out. He is an offensive line coach but for some reason the Dolphins had one of the worst offensive lines in football while he was in Miami. The only thing we agreed on was that Carr was a better quarterback than Tannehill, but he didn't have the guts to put his foot down on that one and demand that they draft him or he's gone. They could have gotten a high draft pick and a better quarterback with that move. I'm not sure if that is on him or not because I don't know how the chain of command works in Miami. All I know is that if it were my job on the line I would have demanded that draft pick.

Anyway, I don't think the Harbaugh thing has any legitimacy. He ruined the 9ers for years to come. I don't see what the big fuss is with him. Ross has ties to Michigan to a fault but I don't see him bringing Harbaugh back to the NFL for any reason. I don't think Harbaugh would want the job. Why would he? Stability? The Dolphins hire a new head coach every 3-5 years. No thanks. I love the Dolphins but I wouldn't even take that job if I were qualified. Clayton should at least give Gase the respect of coaching one game before he starts looking for his replacement.

Ross seems the type of not engaging coaches after he gets burned. I remeber an incident in an article or book about Billick and how he rubbed Ross the wrong way and that was that. Harbaugh in my opinion will never again be in Ross plans.

Yeah, that is a true story. When Ross was trying to by the team the price went up X amount of dollars because the Dolphins win one game, the game was against the Ravens, which Billick coached. I read that Ross has held a grudge against Billick because he blames him for beating the Dolphins and driving the price up on the team. Aha
