  • 1972 Autographed Helmet!

I'm sure most of you have read about the stolen autographed 72 helmet that was in the news. They finally found the family and returned it to the rightful owners. I believe I read that it was signed by 7 team members including Don Shula. Worth $2K!

Do the members of Phinatics remember when I finally got my hands on my 72 Helmet? Signed by 11 team members including Shula ( of which 7 signatures are NFL hall of Famers! Also came with laminated pictures of all as they were signing) basically it looks exactly like the Helmet that was on the news except mines has more signatures. ( bragging rights! and worth more!)

In light of learning of the loss of a dear Dolphan and brother of Finatic,Menace and KC. I wanted to donate my Helmet to the Phinzone and make it the official trophy of Phinzone. What I had in mind is that we create 3 teams, Team Finatic, Team Menace and Team KC. The 3 brothers could draft 12 us members that want to play fantasy( so 3/4 go under each team dependent on if they themselves are playing.) individual winners or group combined score winner that's up to you.

So whichever Team wins each year, the Trophy goes to their house! ( basically bouncing around between Finatic,Menace, and KC) What do you think?

P.S. one time help with shipping cost from Hawaii will greatly appreciated. I'm between jobs at this time. Remember guys and gals we may be virtual friends but we are all real. When you wanna forget about your troubles you can always turn to your Forum friends for comfort. Empathy is the greatest gift you can show a friend! I also lost a stepson back in 2014. He was 29 ( too young to die from cancer).

Extremely generous offer there bud. It almost makes me want to take up playing FF but I've never played but for once with a friend and he made all the decisions as to who to play.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

I'm also a middle of the road player, meaning I'm not as crazy as Freak but do play in a free league.

Wow. That is a very touching offer Aqua. It will be a long process to move on but our family members here on Phinzone are certainly helping us with the process. You guys are appreciated more than you will ever know. As far as the offer goes, I'll let the rest of the crew make that call. That is a precious keepsake you have there and I would hate to see you part ways with it.
    Can we sign this guy?

I live in a condo next to waikiki now and the Wife has rules. She watches too much H&G network and claims the weekend warrioress title when decorating. Helmet got putin storage per her rules.

What a wonderful gesture from a top notch person! I don't do fantasy, but will gladly chip in for shipping to whomever. To give up that helmet (though still "in the FAMILY" so to speak is, as I said above, in different words, an awesome expression.

Thanks IMAWriter! Postage shouldn't be too bad even from Hawaii, if and when they are ready to accept the gift. I'm here for them.

Thank you very much. That's a very touching and generous offer and I appreciate the thoughtfulness. As for the helmet, I wouldn't feel right. I think you should keep it. I would like to see a picture of it on here though.

I am absolutely moved by this gesture. It is an amazing selfless offer, and it more valuable than 100 helmets. I love the idea but have to agree with Tim (Menace) that it is too valuable to do this. There then is the additional risk of what would happen to it. That is a once in a lifetime keepsake and please, hold on to it. That does not diminish your effort. Trust me we are touched and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. But, with that in mind, I think we can absolutely do the rest of this, Lets do the fantasy leagues, I will pick up a trophy and call it the Pat Kent Trophy and send that around. So we can still do this and honor him, honor your great idea, and you can keep your valuable item. Trust me you don't want to part with that. What do you all think?

I love you guys. Thanks again.

I think that's a great idea Matt. And the trophy will always represent Pat and the beautiful gesture Aqua made.

You're a great person, Aqua. With all the madness in the world these days it's refreshing to read about some kindness every now and then.

The trophy idea is a great one! The fantasy football leagues trophy for this forum will be in honor of Pat Kent. It would be quite the tribute and it will insure that his memory will live on in this forum, full of Dolphins fans.

Thanks guys! Just trying to do my part. Great idea Matt, a trophy to honor Pat so that all here will know his name and the brother that he was to the 7 of you. Tim mentioned the pics so if you could give me some time to get to storage( not on property ) and snap some.

Thanks again Aqua. I stress the strength of the gesture is not lost. We are moved. I will get the trophy. Pat was a huge fan. So this is a cool way to honor him.

It would be cool to have a replica Lombardi trophy engraved. You guys could start a GoFund or something to get help with the cost. I'm sure most of the regulars wouldn't mind pitching in even if they don't play in the league.

I found this this website but haven't ordered from there before.

17" Tall Fantasy Football Traveling Trophy. Life Size Silver or Gold Plated Resin Football on a Black or Cherry Piano Finish Base. Price includes engraved front plate with your league name and choice of logo (see gallery for logo options) or upload your own! In addition to side and rear plates designed to hold 10 perpetual plates on each side for a total of 30. The individual perpetual plates either silver, gold, or black can be purchased separately (in the perpetual plate section) and shipped with your trophy. How do the perpetual plates on trophies work? I thought you guys might want to see some faces with the names. This was a photo taken the last time all 8 of the brothers were together. I believe it was 2010. I'm in the Csonka jersey. Matt is in the Dansby jersey and Tim is wearing the Dolphins tee shirt. Pat is back row far left in the green shirt. We were really poor growing up in south Florida in the early 70s but watching the Dolphins was something we could do together and man was it fun back then. Some of us became hooked for life. Pat and I even decided to do a scrap book for the 72 season. Of course we had no idea how that season would turn out. We had newspaper clippings and photos in it. I had into my adulthood. Not really sure what ever became of it. Sure wish I still had it.

Anyway, thanks again for all the support. I love you guys.

Great pic. Must have been nice growing up with all those brothers to share your passion with. I have two older step brothers but they were both married and on their own by the time I was old enough to enjoy sports. I grew up in a house full of girls. Love my sisters but always wished I had a brother closer to my age.

Envious! I was an only child raised by my mother so it was quite lonely around the holidays. I have 2 kids myself to create a somewhat normal family of my own. I always tell my now adult Daughter and Son to keep the relationship close especially since they lost their older step Brother. You folks are very lucky to have such a big loving family.
