The Lions released the MLB today. Last year he played in 16 games for the Lions and recorded 107 tackles 1 forced fumble and 1 sack. He is 31 and a native Miamian. We don't have any credible depth behind Kiko Alonso at MLB. I think signing Tulloch for the vets minimum would be a good move to provide some depth to our LB corps.

My understanding was that the Lions were keeping him on a string over his knee and ankle injuries. Did he fail his physical as the reason for being released?Comment

Cap hit my friend...if they released him in May they would be on the hook...now that the time has passed the Lions wouldn't be responsible for this contract, if Steven filed a suit against them.
Early rumors are that he will be signing with the Eagles - based on connection with Jim Schwartz

I like that he is experienced manning the middle in the wide 9 behind Ndamukong. He would also allow Alonso to move outside in nickel packages and be a cover LB. This would be a solid signing.Comment

Bring him to Miami. He has unit concerns so he will fit fit in. Every other meeting is help in a room full of ice tubs so Tullock will like it in Davie."If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." - George S. Patton

They should give him a look. His experience would be worth signing him if they can get him cheap. Can we sign this guy?Comment

The Lions waited for Tulloch to pass his physical and then released him. He recorded 100+ tackles every season since 2009 except for one in which he tore his ACL while celebrating a sack of Rodgers in 2014. He had surgery this off-season on, what I believe to be, an elbow.
The Lions believe he's lost too much lateral mobility which makes him a liability in coverage but can still be a force as a two down run stuffer. Is that enough to try to make room fir him?Comment

Would be interesting to see if other known names drop after final cuts maybe due to rookies performing above expectations and able to take over higher prices veterans.Just frolic and live in the now like Dolphins and Man's best friend.Comment

BTW, Kel2.2, I am ashamed to admit I clicked on "your" Avatar, praying it would display...ahem, ENLARGE to a proportion deserving of it's content. Unfortunately, it swelled only a tiny bit...again, unfortunately I know THAT feeling all too well. It's a bee-yatch being OLD.👍 1Comment
