He's missed 15 games the last two years due to injury...so we're probably interested. Seriously though, where would we look to play him if we were to sign him??

The Dolphins drafted Tunsil in the first round who will eventually be their Left Tackle of the future. They also have another 1st round pick in Brandon Albert who is a Left Tackle. If that weren't enough, they also picked up Jerome Bushrod who is also a Left Tackle, who they plan to use as a guard. That's THREE Left Tackles the Dolphins could start and do well with. I think the Dolphins are set at Left Tackle and Wide Receiver. If anything they should think of making a trade with another team to get a TRUE GUARD rather then forcing tackles to figure out the new position. JMO

Too injury prone and we are loaded at OT.

PBP reports Dallas Thomas getting most of the 1st team reps at LG. Will this nightmare on the O line never end? Yeah, I'd take a look at Monroe. If Thomas is still in the mix, I'd be willing to look at Monroe from Too Close for Comfort.

Dallas Thomas' nickname should be herpes...................the guy just won't go away.

I'm anxious to see our Guard play this year. JuWuan James said that under Philbin the O linemen had to communicate amongst each other at the line of scrimmage about who had who and be on the same page each play which often led to miscommunications and blown assignments. This year he said Tannehill calls out the Mike and each lineman knows his assignment based off of that call which allows them to not worry and just get after their guy. Like I said before, it was hard to believe that every Guard we had instantly became the worst Guard ever.

Even when they knew their assignments, Dallas and Fox were easy to beat anytime defenses needed a big play.

Gase has put an emphasis on the OL being stronger and spending more time in the weight room than under Philbin. Hoping it pays off, but not expecting Albert or Pouncey to stay healthy all season.

Still, if they the coaches can simplify things for them with the man blocking scheme and assignments, they should be much improved.

You are right about how easily DTs ran right past our Guards even when it was obvious what their assignment was. Another thing stood out that never got addressed; the technique used by our interior linemen in their set up and engagement of pass rushers. The five yard drop was the standard for Tannehill under Lazor. Why the did our Center and both Guards always retreat three yards before engaging the oncoming D linemen? After absorbing the initial push and then anchoring, our interior guys and the rushers were all around RTs face and shoulders and legs. Even if they sealed off a nice wall, it was still in Mr. Immobile's face. Never correcting that was as bad a scheme failure as continuing to try that quick, open toss play to the RB that always got tackled from behind for a loss of 2. Things will be much different this year. I just know it.

Yeah, wish Dallas Thomas had been cut along with Jason Fox. Dallas was ranked like #80 out of 81 guards last season. Philbin was always talking about Dallas Thomas doing ''some'' things correctly, or his pre-snap ''stance'', whatever dafuq that meant, but he was terrible overall. Billy Turner wasn't good by any measure, but did show improvement by season's end.

Gase has emphasized both a different scheme under Foerrester and these guys getting stronger. Good news is that regardless, Dallas Thomas will not be starting at LG - unless Albert goes down and Tunsil moves to LT, or God forbid, Tunsil goes down and Dallas has to come in.

Hoping you're correct on things being MUCH different this season - for the OL and the offense as a whole.
