  • Chatsports.com says Dolphins and Leon Hall are a good fit

    http://www.chatsports.com/nfl/a/here...eyll-sign-2964

There is something wrong with this link. Its not directing you to the right page on chatsports that listed the top 9 remaining free agents and where they will land. Basically they said that Leon Hall would be a good fit with the Dolphins because we need a slot corner with more experience than Bobby Mccain and that his familiarity with Vance Joseph's scheme will be a benefit.

Yeah, the rumors and such have been around for a while.

The former Bengals veteran cornerback is receiving some post-draft buzz from a team that was linked to him earlier this offseason.

I doubt we make a move and Hall is quality depth at best at this stage.

I think if we sign Hall and Arians we are set to compete for a playoff spot. Not only because of them 2 but because we would be deep in every facet.

I would just sign Leon Hall and call it a day. We just need some more depth in the secondary. Other than that I think we are in decent shape. His injury history and the fact that he wants to be paid more than he is worth is probably why he is still unsigned. Hopefully we could just sign him to a one year deal maybe in the $5M range.

I'd be happy with that too.

No offense to you, FT, but there have been MANY perfect fits for the Dolphins that the team never bothers to sign. In recent years it's been at the guard position. I wouldn't get your hopes up that the Dolphins will do the right thing. (Even Mathis comes to mind)

I loved the signing of I E-O and the drafting of Xavien Howard. With Maxwell and Lippett already on board, I'd like to see Joseph get them out on the field, allow them to play freely, be instictual, take their lumps, make their mistakes and see who starts making plays. Coyle chose to play average guys that didn't make mistakes in his cowardly scheme over guys with playmaking ability that were in the middle of the learning curve. Playmakers have to be trusted and coaches have to be willing to let them get in the groove, even if it means giving up big plays early on. You didn't see Buddy Ryan dismantling his 46 defense or benching DBs after what Marino did to them in week 11 or 12 of 1985.
This isn't our year. Tannehill is going to need time to make this miraculous transformation into a winner if it happens at all and Christiansen made it clear we're riding on his arm when he said something along the line of, "and if we're going to have success throwing the ball as much as we plan on throwing it, Tannehill has to be much more precise in his ball location." Doesn't sound like a winning formula to me. We will see.
So let's go with what we have at Corner and see if we need to add more help before 2017.
Landing a true RG, on the other hand, still sounds real nice. This depth chart is more like it.
Albert. Tunsil. Pouncey. #1 RG. James
          Bushrod. Douglas. Douglas? Urbik. Turner

From reports, Joseph is planning on using Jones and IAQ BOTH as Free and Strong Safties...

Abdul-Quddus says he believes the Dolphins can get to point where it's just right safety, left safety. That's how DC Vance Joseph wants it

Abdul-Quddus says he'll play "either/or" free or strong safety. "We're both very versatile safeties."

I totally agree with you. I was just saying that with who is still available on the free agent market and based upon what our needs are that Leon Hall is really the only free agent out there worth signing. It makes perfect sense which is why it probably won't happen.

I agree. Also, even though Foster is hurt it would make sense to have a veteran presence in the Dolphins backfield but that's not going to happen. This front office plans to roll with a rookie and a player who saw limited touches last season. That's not wise in my opinion.

I don't think Foster has much left in the tank. I might look to pick up another RB when teams start making cuts in August.
