  • We could always be the Browns or 49ers!!!

KB asked us in another thread what the level of excitement was for us regarding our team & this season...While my personal level of excitement is at an all-time low (as Jimbo Morrison from the Doors would say 'I've been down so GD long that it looks like up to me')..Been kicked in the teeth (more like the nuts) by this franchise too many times over the past several decades to harbor too much hope or excitement at this point, but i imagine at some point the team will get my hopes up yet again, just to crush them yet again!...That being said, i guess we can ALL take solace in the fact that it could ALWAYS be worse.....

Vegas has both the Browns (probably the only team that's kept us from being the #1 laughingstock & most dysfunctional of the league the last several years) & the 49ers opening as underdogs for every week of the first 16 weeks of the upcoming season..Wrap your head around that for a sec,, their oddsmakers who study every game, every situation and every variable & piece of data accessible, have determined that currently, neither the Browns nor the 9ers will be favorites to win a game in at least the first 16 weeks (for some reason they say week 17 is too speculative at this point to predict, huh???) of the season...Crazy!!!...

Watch we upset Seattle in week 1. Crazier things have happened.
Just frolic and live in the now like Dolphins and Man's best friend.

I'm with you Aqua. If we win the battle up front with our O line, we can beat Seattle and I think we will. We're the biggest dogs in week one, +8 1/2. #17 will have to make winning plays to get this victory.

I think playing at Seattle in week 1 is the best time to play them. They tend to get stronger as the season progresses and the weather won't be a factor. There is no reason why this can't be a competitive game. Yes thats one of the toughest paces to win in the NFL but lets embrace the challenge. We will have an improved o-line and defense and its not like they have a powerhouse offense so the game should be close. Its hard to believe but the season opener is only a little more than 3 months away. Hopefully we can shock the world. That could really set the tone for a successful season.

Agreed with both FTL and Kelbail! I can easily see us surprising the Northeners. It really depends on Tanehill and the D. In Gase I trust.

I'd love to open the season 2-0, but a lot of that depends on how quickly the new offense and defense learns the schemes and gels. Hawks and Pats are a good early test though.

That said, IF we beat the Hawks in Seattle, I'd be loving life.
