    Critical camp watch situations:
Xavien Howard- Not only was Howard our 2nd round pick but he was also our 4th round pick. To me, this says Greer is 100% certain that Howard will start in 2016. This was a huge decision with Greer's first real pick as the Dolphins GM. Tunsil pretty much fell from Heaven and right into his lap. If Howard can't beat out Lippett and Maxwell, we might be in for huge disappointment. Because the next pick was Alabama perennial back-up, Kenyan Drake. Greer passed up a RB in Kenneth Dixon that lit up the college football world both rushing and receiving as a fulltime back. He also passed up numerous offensive lineman along with some quality LBs and Safeties. Unless Ajayi proves to be a very solid starter and Drake is lightning in a bottle, this pick could will justifiably be viewed as yet another Dolphins head scratcher along the lines of Ted Ginn, Eddie Moore, Eric Kumerow and either one of the Jamars. Carroo, who is a stud WR, cost us plenty to acquire in round three. My question here is do we have the type of Quarterback with the ability to spread the ball around enough to keep all of these pass catchers happy? If not, one or two will be heading out the door after the season and our net gain is 0. Yes, you have to have quality depth to have a successful season but you have to have two quality starting line-ups to have any success at all. I don't understand stacking solid units when there are still holes to address (OG, MLB, S) or drafting college niche playmakers at a position that has no proven starter. If Howard is not starting day one and Drake slides back to the #3 or #4 RB, Greer should be sent packing, regardless of how players from Carroo on down perform.

I dont understand what you are saying here my friend...

We drafted - let's get over it...

All those players you mentioned have an associated risk to them as well. No one can predict how they are going to perform in the NFL. our front office had a plan and they stuck to it...let's appreciate that and move on...

Agree with Bahamas. Those were the picks. IMO they weren't looking for a "starting" RB because they have one in Ajayi. I mean he would have been a first round pick if not for "long range" concerns about his knee (a condition he's played through in college with no pain). Drake was a pick that fits Gase's offense, he can return kicks, he covers kicks, he's got great hands out of the backfield, and he averaged 6 ypc when running the ball for Alabama. He's a Reggie Bush type of player, which is what they were looking to draft. As for Howard, he was a top 5 CB on EVERY draft experts list. He perfectly fits they type of CB that VJ is putting on this team now.

Fact is every team has draft busts and surprises. Drake is not a head scratcher IMO, in fact I was pumped when they drafted him. I've seen enough of Ajayi in college to know he'll be a VG lead back, I'd venture to bet better than Miller at the end of the day. And to say Drake is a perennial back isn't much of an insult when you see who was playing in front of him. Drake would have been a starter and 1000 rusher on about 95% of division 1 college teams.

At the end of the day Greer picked the players that he, his scouts, and his coaches wanted to pick in those slots. I'm fine with that because unlike some posters here I actually know that I don't do the film study, sit in the meetings, or get paid to evaluate the players who will make this team better and fit the schemes the coaches are running, the guys who picked the draft do.

Nice to see some updates. Suh is back, IEO is healthy and working, the defense is loving Joseph and we're not reading any BS about ''scheme fit''. Instead Joseph is tailoring to the strengths of his players.

Wish we had more new from the OL and offense.

Brandon Doughty with a nice first down throw to Jarvis Landry. Caught my eye. Well placed ball

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Looks like Jordan Phillips has leapfrogged Earl Mitchell.

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Very impressive to see Byron Maxwell run with Kenny Stills step for step on a deep pattern. No separation on a thrown ball that was inc

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Laremy Tunsil just took a left tackle snap with the third team OLine and put Farrington Hugeunin on the ground. Nice punch.

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
I need to see Andre Branch in pads because without pads nobody can block him consistently

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Nice left side run by Kenyan Drake, who is presently running with second teamers.

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Laremy Tunsil just allowed Chris Jones to get a would be sack on Matt Moore. Not impressed

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Andre Branch's revenge. He would have crushed Tannehill on blindside. I'm becoming a fan

Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly 25m25 minutes ago
Nice wash away block by Branden Albert to keep Andre Branch away from Tannehill.

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Tyler Patmon has caught my eye. Just watched him breakup his second pass.

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Nice run by Jay Ajayi. I don't evaluate tailbacks without pads, but he's putting in that work.

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Andre Branch just collapsed the pocket on Ryan Tannehill. He has a quick first step.

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Michael Thomas just broke up a deep catch Devante Parker almost caught over Tony Lippett, who let him get behind him.

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
The Dolphins are cross training all the lineman. One snap Jamil Douglas is playing guard, the very next he is at center.

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Jay Ajayi is likely going to be utilized plenty in the Dolphins' passing game.

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
The way Kenny Stills is moving is a lot different than last year. You can tell he's healthy & working to get the $

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
DeVante Parker is running these routes hard and crisp. Nice!

      Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Laremy Tunsil looks like he's at home playing next to Mike Pouncey.

Adam Gase called the first week of OTAs "a little sloppy."

        Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
"He has done a good job. He challenges the wide outs....he hasn't disappointed one bit," Gase on Byron Maxwell.

        Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Top performers from today: 1. Byron Maxwell (INT); 2. Andre Branch (constant pressure) 3. AJ Hendy (INT, active safety)

        Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Tight end Gabe Hughes just scored a TD during 7-on-7s, which includes some RAC. Didn't see the QB.

        Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Laremy Tunsil stayed after practice to work on his pass setting with his coaches and Ruben Carter.

        Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Byron Maxwell picked off a Ryan Tannehill pass during 7-on-7 after DeVante Parker fell on his route.

        Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
Nice breakup by AJ Henry on a pass to Brandon Shippen. OK rookie....you now have my attention. Carry on

        Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
The Dolphins saved 7-on-7s for last, allowing the Dlinemen and Olinemen to go inside. This is new.

        Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly
I've now watched three Dolphins practices and I haven't noticed Isa Abdul Quddus once. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

        ===

Interesting stuff on Hendy. The Bucs were reported to have him listed as the 3rd best FS coming out. He had some character concerns at Maryland and was suspended at one point. He played alongside Sean Davis.

First would-be sack of #Dolphins practice today goes to DT Jordan Phillips on QB Ryan Tannehill.

            Andrew Abramson ‏@AbramsonPBP
Carroo is not practicing but running on sidelines. Doesn't look like anything serious

            James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL
Then, #Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill throws a strike to WR DeVante Parker on the next play for 20-plus yards. Good comeback by the offense.

            Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley
Add Jason Jones to the players doing rehab work to the side

            James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL
I took a look at #Dolphins rookie CB Xavien Howard for a couple plays. Good size and likes to get his hands on WRs. His development is key.

            Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley
Tannehill misses the target by a foot, then drops and does push-ups.

            Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley
Still no Ja'Wuan James in team drills. Getting a long look at Billy Turner.

            Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley
My one kicker tweet for the day: Marshall Koehn can CRUSH the ball.

            James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL
A clear hold by OL Billy Turner on DE Mario Williams, who was closing in QB Ryan Tannehill. That play would've cost the offense 10 yards.

            James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL
On the next play #Dolphins DE Andre Branch gets a QB sack.

            Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley
Tunsil getting some "welcome to the NFL" moments in practice today.

            James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerNFL
Interesting that DL Chris Jones beats #Dolphins OL Laremy Tunsil. Rough day for the o-line so far.

Tannehill: Things weren't as clean as we would have like today. But it's Day 3 of OTAs. We're learning. We want it to happen quickly

              Andrew Abramson ‏@AbramsonPBP
Tannehill says he had himself do 20 push-ups after missing a target

Tannehill: Lazor's offense we wanted to create tempo we were locked in -- what he called was what we ran. This offense we'll mix it up

              Andrew Abramson ‏@AbramsonPBP
Tannehill: We've been sacked a lot here the last few years. To have Tunsil drop to us in first round was huge for us

Tannehill on Tunsil: First time I saw him in person I looked over "wow, that looks like an OL." He's athletic, he's big, he has long arms

Right? Unfortunately, he's too stupid and injury prone.

Misi is a SS LB and nothing more. Stuff the strong C gap and jam a TE. That's it. That's all he's ever been. He is also slower than all of the undrafted LBs we brought in last year. Can't see us bringing him back after this season.
