  • Draft rumors

There will probably be many today, so let's post them here.

I have heard a lot of rumblings that if Elliot is available at #8 that Miami and Cleveland have a deal in place to swap picks.

  • #2
Not sure you'd classify this as a rumour but it's being speculated that Myles Jack could suffer a draft-day free fall, especially after saying himself he might have microfracture surgery in the future and that no one knows their NFL future, adding if you get 3 years in you're above average...

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see that this had already been posted in thread by Bahamas.

Any thoughts as to the "cost" of this swap?

Probably our 3rd round pick. I don't know how we can do that when we have many other needs especially on defense.

        A) I think the Cowboys are drafting Elliott
        B) I think the Eagles will draft him if he falls

There are rumors abound that the Dolphins might trade ahead of the Cowboys to draft Elliott. The Dolphins are allegedly so high on Elliott and fearful of the Cowboys drafting him that they might make a trade with the Chargers to land him.

I am wondering if this is all smoke and mirrors. What if the Dolphins want to "appear" to be that interested in Elliott and move all the way up to the #2 position to draft Jalen Ramsey! 😳

How I wish Raiders were picking 3rd and they are high on someone that could be had in late 1st.

Not exactly a rumor but Mike Mayock has us taking Shaq Lawson at 13 and the Raiders taking Myles Jack at 14.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

Hope that's BS about moving up for Elliott.

                Ramsey, yes. Please.

The Cowboys could, but only if Ramsey is drafted before them. If Ramsey is there I think they draft him. However, McFadden had a decent season last year and Cowpokes have so many other needs. I don't think they take him. I could see them taking BUckner at #4 tough.

Many people have the Eagles as a landing spot, but I don't see it either. They have Murray still who was completely wasted last year under Kelly.

I think the spot for Elliot starts at #8 because that is where Cleveland is. Cleveland could take him, but I really think they would rather trade out. The Giants and the Bears are the ones along with Miami that I think would be in play.

Eagles traded Murray to the Titans for a 4th round pick I believe..

Yep. Eagles did trade Murray to the Titans. The rumors are that IF the Eagles draft Elliott that Ryan Matthews could be traded to the 49ers or Cowboys. Also, if the Eagles draft Elliott the Eagles might trade Sproles too.

Not liking this trade up for Elliot talk. We have too too many more important needs. If we need an RB so bad, keep that third rounder and get one there.....sheesh

Agreed. If Elliot falls to 13 that is one thing but to trade up for him is ridiculous.

Agree with both of you. I'd rather have Henry or Ken Dixon in the 2nd than move up into the Top 8 for Elliott.

This draft is DEEP at RB. We need compliments to Ajayi as a rotation. Those can be had from the 3rd on down.

Let the Bears or Giants have him. We have too many holes to move up for anybody. We need a lot of solid players, not one or two elite and I don't even see double E as elite. JMHO.

I hope we stay put. I think Lawson should be there, and I'm starting to think it's possible Jack falls to 13. I would rather have both of those guys over Elliott. If Elliott is there at 13 and they take him I'm okay with that b/c he more than likely is the BPA and that would be a very good pick up at #13. With that said, I love Ajayi, wanted him last year and have confidence that he is the real deal and will be a stud for us.

                      Ragland flagged with inlarged aorta
Alabama linebacker Reggie Ragland pops up in the first round of most mock drafts, but a medical issue may cause some teams to think twice about picking him.Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Ragland has been “flagged” by some teams because he has an enlarged aorta. The condition requires yearly monitoring and can put [more]

Hey wulf, long time no see brov...Hope all is well..

Many think the trade up for Zeke would cost us a 3rd and that's pissing a lot of people off, but everyone better prepare themselves to be a lot more pissed off at the cost of trading up..Omar believes it'll cost us either a 3rd AND a 5th this year or a 2nd in next years draft...Obviously the key to any of this happening is whether he makes it past Dallas at 4 and whether we're truly as interested as everyone's making us out to be...

I'm gonna be pissed if we draft Elliot at 13. If we give up a 3rd 5th and 2nd next year I will just have to walk away from following this team period.

I'm with ya GC74, I want a power back but not at that cost.. I would of tried to cut a deal with Pitt for #13 for #25 and draft Henry and pick up another 2nd... it would be the stupidest move I've ever seen if we go RB @ #13 let alone giving away pics for him..
