  • Draft I would like, 10 days out

Its hard to believe that the draft is now only 10 days away. Here is what I hope we do.

R1. DE Shaq Lawson - He is probably the best DE in the draft. Our defense could use a young stud lineman like him to create some havoc. He is a difference maker and thats what we need with this pick.

R2. DB Artie Burns - While he is a bit raw he does have the physical skills to develop into a quality starting NFL corner. He is also a fit for our press scheme.

R3. RB CJ Procise - Having never played RB before last season he showed quite well averaging 6.6 YPC. So he doesn't have a lot of wear and tear and he still has room for improvement. He has good size and speed for the position. Ajayi and Procise should form a solid duo of backs.

R4. OG Connor McGovern - He might be one of the strongest players in this draft. He also has decent athleticism for the position. With the sorry state of our interior o-line he should be able to start right away.

R5. LB Nick Vigil - Good college production combined with a good showing at the combine give me reason to believe he can be a quality starting MLB in the NFL. At the very least he will provide some depth and can play on special teams right away.

R6. FS Justin Simmons - Some depth and competition in the secondary.

R7. LB De'Vondre Campbell - He has good size 6'4 235 and great athleticism for the OLB position he ran a 4.58 40 at the combine. At the very least he provides depth in the LB corps.

R7. WR Chris Moore - He has some upside to develop scoring 24 TD's in his last 3 years of college.

This would be a very solid draft and looks realistic as well.

Little worried Nick Vigil won't be there in the 5th, even though we pick at #8.

    Dolphins Picks:
    Round 1 - Pick #13
    Round 2 - Pick #11 (42nd overall)
    Round 3 - Pick #10 (73rd overall)
    Round 4 - Pick #9 (107th overall)
    Round 5 - Pick #8 (147th overall)
    Round 6 - Pick #11 (186th overall)
    Round 7 - Pick #6 (227th overall
    Round 7 - Pick #10 (231st overall)

Yes I agree, of all those players, Nick Vigil is the only one I am worried won't be available. Blake Martinez would be a nice consolation prize if Vigil has already been selected. Another direction we could go in is to take LB Joshua Perry in the 3rd round and then take a RB in the 5th round.

Yeah, especially with the stinking Pats have 4 or 5 picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Bastards.

Not sure Perry falls that far either. I like Blake Martinez a lot as well.

Here is another way we could go in terms of switching up the middle of the draft.

      R3. OG Christian Westerman

      R4. LB Nick Vigil

      R5. RB Paul Perkins

Looks like a solid draft to me. I am not familiar with your later round picks but your first four picks are great ones. I would really like to see a quarterback on that list and since the Dolphins had meeting with about four different college quarterbacks I have a feeling they will be drafting one next week.

De'Vondre Campbell has the frame, length, and speed, but he lacks instincts and is slow to recognize plays.

Fluff article on Campbell... He is NOT 6-5, 240. lol... http://www.news-press.com/story/spor...game/79005034/

Hoping we draft a QB and bring in a few others as UDFAs for tryouts.

Yeah I think if we draft those players, the first four would be immediate starters. Perkins is a RB from UCLA, he is a bit small to be a feature back so he would most likely backup Ajayi but Perkins was productive for UCLA so maybe he could get about 8 carries a game or so and be a nice change of pace back. Simmons has potential, and at least gives us some secondary depth and he can play special teams. Campbell has Dion Jordan like athleticism and was productive last year for Minnesota, again he would at least provide some depth at OLB and can play special teams. Moore was a productive WR for Cincinnati and he has some upside. Once we get to the 6th and 7th rounds the pickings are going to be slim at QB but I would be ok with drafting a QB instead of one of those final three players.
