  • Dion Jordan ?

The Dolphins and their fans are about one week away from hearing the great news or the bad news about Dion Jordan? Will he be in football shape? Will he even bother applying to be reinstated as an NFL player? Nobody knows but everybody should know in a short few days.

What is your opinion on this situation? Do you think that Dion Jordan may be motivated to come back to the NFL better then ever, possibly by the help of his friend and college teammate Kiko Alonso?

I hate to say it but I find it hard to believe he stayed clean the last year. He couldn't do it before, and being completely away from the organization couldn't have helped. So if he did fail another test he won't bother applying because he knows. I truly hope I'm wrong.

I may sound strange but I think this is the best way to look at it. He failed the test more than once so why get your hopes up that he actually got his act together. If he did, that's great and Dolphins fans will be excited and welcome him back with open arms. But, as Dolphins fans, why get our hopes up for something that more than likely won't happen. Josh Gordon couldn't stay clean and he is a proven, elite player in the NFL. Dion Jordan hasn't proven a thing in the NFL other than he is an addict. I have read that he has other issues going on, like depression and things along that nature. If he were smart he would have used his contacts around the league to give Ricky Williams a call. He is an ex-Dolphins, had his own issues with drug related problems as well as anxieties and depression. So, in my opinion he would have been a perfect guy to get a hold of to try and help him out.

I have no idea how long a player has to be "clean" for him to have a clean drug test. Kiko Alonso hasn't been with the team long enough for that friendship to matter all that much if the test can find traces of illegal substances going back a month or two. So, let's all hope that Jordan has been working out hard, has gotten himself into a program to help with his mental health and can have a long career in the NFL and the Dolphins.

I hope is has stayed clean, I also expect him to move back to the position he not only played, but excelled in, OLB....also someone that can cover a TE...

This will be a test to see if Gase is just another crap coach, or if he realizes it was a failure to tell an OLB with outstanding skills to bulk up and play DE...

People act like he's a crack head. Where are you getting your info?

PEDs aren't drugs... they are NFL banned substances. Many of which can be bought at GNC and other health food stores.

Weed is illegal, but I've read nothing that said he was busted for that. It's all been PED related. If anyone has anything different, post a link.

We don't know that there is an actual addiction. People on the internet throw words like that around, but again - where is the link?

He either took some PEDs or smoked some weed and got banned for a ''diluted urine sample''. As he had already been popped for PEDs, he was a repeat offender and hence the season long suspension in 2015.

IF he's smoking weed, I wouldn't be surprised to learn he has a social disorder or something, ala Ricky, Underwood, or Marshall. We seem to end up with guys like this.

I'd love to get his skillset back, but if not, just cut him outright and move on. We should have a final answer by draft day. And who knows, if he's clean, he may be part of a draft trade.

I mentioned that above. I read that he did have some sort of depression disorder, possibly social anxiety too like Ricky has. If that's the case, he is worth keeping IF he was smart enough to stay away from ANYTHING that can cause him to fail the test. Jordan knows why he is failing these tests so he can stay clean, if he really wants to play again.

If he's clean the Dolphins could really use him, at LINEBACKER, not at DE like a poor defensive coordinator would have him play.

Agree... I think part of the problem was Coyles misusing him and trying to turn him into something he's not. Hoping for the best.

Dion Jordan. Oh, Dion Jordan. Step out from the shadows from whence you've been hiding and reveal thyself to your masses. What have you made of yourself over these past many months?

lol, no shit...Maybe we should put his picture on the side of a milk carton...If anyone happens to run across a guy who's a really good Special Teams player drafted #3 overall, tell him his football team can ill-afford to lose anyone, let alone guys taken in the top 3!!!

I guess one thing that everyone is kind of losing sight of is that even if by some minor miracle Jordan actually shows the initiative to apply for reinstatement and by a bigger miracle shows the passion to still want to play football and to have kept in some kind of shape the last year...the league office still has to grant reinstatement..He could very well apply and get a 'Come back later & try again' response...

Yes just like Gordon. I hope he makes it. I still remeber the Sports Science show i saw in which they analyzed and measured the guys athletic power and performance in these cool, controlled experiments. Got me stoked!

Tannenbaum released a statement that he doesn't know the status, whereabouts or physical condition of Dion Jordan and reporters should look to Jordan's agent and representatives if they wish to find these answers. He has to answer in such a manner to avoid breaking NFL rules concerning suspended players but it just adds to the mystery.
