If the rumors about Charles is true then you can scratch every single one of this 1st round list.
Just frolic and live in the now like Dolphins and Man's best friend.

Would change the dynamic for sure. Conklin might still be there and Ogbah could be a good pick in a trade down as well.

I would take Ragland in the first IF Buckner is gone
    Fuller #2
    Westerman #3
    Beavers #4
    CARDALE JONES #5

Cuch. I want Jones as a QB. I want him to light a fire under RT.....i think he is the guy to do it. With Alonso on board, i think Ragland could make sense even at 13. I know you have mentioned that before but i think Smith is targeted as an OLB and Ragland has never been confused as anything but an ILB so i am not sure how much Smith's injury affected Raglands stock. Here is a pretty good web site with Raglands big board rank 16

We have to get a thumper and i still could not pick one of the CB horde beyond Ramsey and Hargreaves. IMHO any of the other CBs is as much a crapshoot as Ragland and i think that Ragland is pretty certain to start.....or they can fire me as GM.

They say that Ragland ''is stiff with some athletic limitations.'' lol... yeah, NS...

I wouldn't have a problem with Ragland if we were picking between 19 and 23rd. But even they don't put him in the top 15. His stock got inflated when Smith went down. But if we do take him, he'd damn well better be able to start.

Yes, Ragland at 16 and Smith sitting in front of him at 5. At Walter Football, Ragland at 10, and Smith at 8 in front of him where he should be, injury and all....but I just don't see how Smiths injury has anything to do with Raglands ranking which are consistently high across the web and within the realm of reason, IMHO, to take him at 13. His rankings are due to 2 time All American, finalist for the Butkus award won by your Man Smith as well as the Bednarik and Nagurski Trophies, SEC Defensive Player of the Year, Captain of the CrimsonTide D. His Combine numbers are in the upper quarter of all LBs, and some of the best among ILBs. I watched the combine and he didn't look so stiff to me.McShay calls him a "heat seeking missle"...........not in love with the guy, but my point is he is a good pick at 13 at, well we both agree he'd better start which is not always the case with our Fins and first round picks anywhere...

Here Cuch.....make yourself feel a little better.....from my vault of extensive prospect tape study.....

Like a lot of young guys, he lacks discretion and maturity. Watch his tape though and he leaps off the screen with athleticism and ability. Better than Odrick by a country mile.

yeah, i've watched quite a bit of him & like what i see..but i'm not sure his 'dumbness' can be put off to just being immature,, he seems a bit thick to me...Being better than Odrick by any stretch isn't saying a whole lot,, still can't see how he was deemed a 1st round talent...I remember when we drafted him & i said i felt like Charlie Brown at Halloween; "All i got was Odrick!"

Well, technically, you got Odie AND Misi. lol... the cost was Earl Thomas. This why I do not want to trade down again for more picks.

Nkemdiche has said some dumb shat, but he's no dumber than a lot of NFL players who either can't shut their traps or keep their pants zipped up. Problem is that he hasn't learned what NOT to say. He's already hurt his draft stock by running his mouth and that dumb shat at the hotel party months ago. At this point, his agent probably has a muzzle on him - or should. lol...

yeah, i've never liked the idea of trading down from an elite talent point (top 10) to where the crapshoot starts..I know it's all basically a crapshoot, but you've gotta believe you have a way better shot at landing an elite talent within the first 5-10 picks than you do at close to pick 30...People are idiots who value quantity over quality in the draft..That shit, passing on ET when we desperately needed a FS & dropping all the way down to the bottom of the first was one of the dumbest moves i've ever seen! PT Barnum was so right when he said there's a sucker born every minute!!!

Yes... completely agree... also stings that almost all the talent Philbin and Coyles jettisoned would have helped us make the playoffs the past few seasons. Even Nolan Carroll was better than Jamar Taylor the past 2 seasons... /sighs

Anyway, hoping for the best draft we've ever had and the best coaching since JJ was here.

Round 1 My first choice would be Eli Apple. I would be ok with Jack Conklin if he can also play OG since that would also fill a major need and he would be Albert's eventual replacement at LT.

Round 2 If we don't draft a corner in round 1 then we have to draft a corner here. I like Burns best but he might not be available. If he is not then I like Fuller as my next choice then Howard. If we do draft a corner in round 1 then I would take Ogbah if he is available and Garnett if he is not.

Round 3 If we don't draft an o-lineman in the first 2 rounds then I would take Westerman. If we already did then I would take Perry or Jones since we need to upgrade our LB corps.

Round 4 If CJ Procise is available here then I would take him. If not then I would probably take Glasgow since he can play both OG and C.

Round 5. If we have not yet drafted a RB then I would take Perkins since I believe he could be a very good complement to Ajayi. If we already drafted a RB then I would take Odiambo unless there was a better defensive player available.

I'm on the same thought as you. I would not be unhappy with Comklin because of the need. Unless a Hargreaves, Buckner, Stanley, Jack drops to us we have options at 13.

If I had to make a mock draft from those players you listed I would do this.

          R1. DB Eli Apple

          R2. DE Emmanuel Ogbah

          R3. LB Joshua Perry

          R4. CJ Procise

          R5. Reese Odhiambo

I'd probably go with the following:

R1. DL DeForrest Buckner - can't pass up that talent

R2. DB Artie Burns - Best 2nd round press corner

            R3. G Christian Westermann - Under rated

R4. RB Keith Marshall - Miller clone

            R5. FB/RB Chris Swain - Stud FB

I am not so sure that Buckner or Burns will be available to us in the first and second rounds. Thats why I would take Apple in the first round and address our most pressing need. I like Westerman in the 3rd round. I think Marshall could be had later like in the 6th round. I have not heard of Chris Swain.

As far as my draft I am not so sure that Ogbah will be available to us in the 2nd round. So if he is not I would take Joshua Garnett. Then I would take the best available DE in the 5th round. If we could get Apple, Garnett, Perry and Procise in the first 4 rounds that would be amazing.

Completely agree - but if Buckner or Robert Nkemdiche either one drop, you got to pull that trigger.

Would be happy as Hell with Apple, Garnett, Perry, and Prosise. We could TEs the rest of the draft and I wouldn't care. lol...

              I would draft these players.........................

              DeForrest Buckner
              Artis Burns
Christian Westerman (I wanted Wright but you have Glasgow and Truek in the same round so I couldn't )
              Graham Glasgow
              Foster?

I was thinking of Reggie Bush. Do you think Foster could slide to a team who is DESPERATE for a running back since teams may view him as a wide receiver?

Depends on his role, but he is an interesting late round prospect if you're into the Darren Sproles types... Foster has a similar build and style as Reggie Bush as a running back. He can be a scat back, P&K returner, or act as a slot receiver. Guys who can make plays all over the field are usually valued. Heck, we have Christion Jones still and he's shown not much at all...

I just threw him and Chris Swain on the list for their versatility. Between the two, I'd prefer Swain as a FB.
