  • Anybody like this draft?

R1. LB Reggie Ragland - I know this is a little high for him but I think he could be tone setter for our entire defense. We need a tough physical presence on defense and we have to do a much better job of stopping the run. Alonso moving outside would also make more sense in my opinion so he can better use his speed and athleticism.

R2. DB Artie Burns - His draft stock has been rising. He has good size at 6'0 195 lbs and speed he ran a 4.46 at the combine. He also had 6 INT's last year.

R3. RB Alex Collins - He is a physical RB with good speed even though he ran slow at the combine. I watched some of his film and when the pads are on he has more than enough speed. Collins and Ajayi will make for a good 2 headed monster at RB.

R4. OG Connor McGovern - I know this is a little late to address this position but really I don't think the caliber of OG we could get in the 3rd round would be that much better.

R5. DE/DT Anthony Zettel - He would basically be Shelby's replacement. He would primarily play at DE but would move inside to DT on passing downs which is what Shelby did.

R6. OG Denver Kirkland - A power blocking OG, and he blocked for Collins at Arkansas.

R7. WR Keyarris Garrett - Some competition and depth at the bottom of the WR corps.

R7. QB Jacob Coker - Developmental and potential future backup QB.

I'd be pissed if we wasted the #13 on Ragland. He isn’t even a Top 20 player in this draft, nor is he as good as CJ Mosley, who was taken at #17 a couple seasons ago. Ragland can’t cover, lacks vision and lacks side line speed. He's only good in short areas where he can tackle running backs coming straight at him or slower TEs and QBs. Slow footed, big body guy with skinny arms.

To me , Ragland is not enough of an upgrade from Koa Misi to warrant #13 and wouldn't even be in the conversation if Jaylon Smith hadn't had the medical setback with his knee. Ditto for under sized Darron Lee. Give me Brothers or Perry in the 2nd or 3rd.

Burns would be a good press corner.

Collins I'm neutral on, but I'd love to pick up a speedster at RB. Keith Marshall excites me if he's healthy.

Like Zettel, but neutral on the 2 OGs.

Not sure about the WR... we currently have Devante Parker, Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills, Matt Hazel, and Griff Whalen, along with AJ Cruz, Tyler Davis, Robert Herron, Christion Jones, Tyler Murphy also on the roster.

Coker should be able to knock Moore or Logan Thomas off the roster.

Ragland is generally considered the best MLB in this draft. He might not be very fast but I think he has more speed than you are giving him credit for. He did a good job covering Hunter Henry who is the best TE in the draft. I am also high on Perry and if we could get him in the 3rd round that would be a steal. I know we both like Eli Apple and I would be very happy if we chose him in the first round. I am starting to worry that Burns might not even be available to us in the 2nd round. So I would be willing to shake up my draft some.

R1. DB Eli Apple - Immediate starter and he could become an elite DB.

R2. OG Joshua Garnett - Immediate starter and some much needed help on our o-line.

R3. LB Joshua Perry - I think he can move to MLB because of his size 6'4 250 lbs.

R4. RB Kenyan Drake - He should be a good change of pace back to Ajayi.

      R5. DE/DT Anthony Zettel - Shelby's replacement.

R6. QB Nate Sudfeld - I think he has a little more upside than Coker.

Now this draft I can get behind. I think it's pretty damn solid and in an order that makes a lot of sense. Then just take BPA with the two 7th rounders regardless of position. Gase talked a ''stable'' of running backs. Pick up another one in the 7th.

I don't even know if Garnett will be there in the 2nd when we pick. So since Apple is the 90% guarrenteed let's pick him and everyone else afterwards can change weekly.
Just frolic and live in the now like Dolphins and Man's best friend.

Prefer Garnett, but if not take Westerman.

NFL Network is running a mock draft show now and they had the Dolphins taking Eli Apple. Its looking more and more likely that he is going to be the selection.

That's the scary part, when too many gurus point at that and we get cute. When was the last time we picked who we are suppose to. Parker is the only one.

Last draft was pretty much Todd Gurley or Devante Parker. Once the Rams took Gurley, we took Parker, even though a lot of people were wanting us to go OL.

Rework need as we have Daniel Thomas and we don't need Alex Collins!
