There's no reason for us not to have traded Gesicki before last season...
He's not a TE that fits McDaniel's (former run game coordinator with a good blocking TE) system. He's having fun with Hill, but we are going to need some inline-ness. That wasn't Gesicki's specialty..
although he was better than other years.

He wasn’t used properly, several have mentioned that, he had some flash plays but when you can’t block it limits your ability in this offense

I am not that upset over this.
Gesicki was not a fit here... We can argue about whether or not he should have been a fit here.... The reality is he was not.
With Waddle and Hill.... The surprisingly good play of Cracraft and Sherfield.... Gesicki was the 5th or 6th target out there for us.
I think we are riled up because we hate New England so much... and the Wes Welker wound will never go away.
We were not using Gesicki... and that was not going to change..
We could not afford to pay him more than 9 million to be our 6th target out there.
I have moved on.
