  • Pouncey to have MRI

Keep your fingers crossed guys and gals, we can't afford to lose any lineman never mind our starting center.
The aftermath of Saturday night's preseason game in Miami includes another injury to one of the Pouncey twins. Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey broke an ankle last week against the Packers; Dolphins center Mike Pouncey emerged from a contest against the Falcons with his left knee in a brace.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

It didn't appear to be a serious injury when I watched it but you never know. What looked worse then that injury was the play by J.D. Walton who played center in place of Pouncey. He got manhandled! Let's hope that the Karma bug isn't hitting the Hernandez Hat Wearing Twins.

Last year I posted the Fins should sign FA Fernando Velasco, who had several good years with the Titans. He plays both center and guard, and was better overall than Satele. He's a decent zone-read blocker. Not panicking yet. I just remember seeing Jordy Nelson leave the field on his own power, and bam, next day, Out for the season. Adrenalin wears off, and you never know. For those who saw the game, did Dallas Thomas hold his own? I'm sure he "held." haha
Lots of O-Line penalties again, but fortunately Tannehill shakes them off, and Lazor is patient enough to get it back in moderate sized chunks, appears like?

He says he'll be fine, I hope he's right.

He played quite a few plays after the injury with no noticeable limp or limit in mobility. I know on one play he pulled and led a screen outside ahead of Miller. I know that doesn't mean there isn't damage, but it is reason for optimism. Fingers crossed.

I need to re-watch the game to answer your question. I was watching it on my computer and was very distracted. I did NOT notice Turner having any problems playing the position and I have been his biggest supporter, for being cut. AHA So, for me to say he had a good game is hard but from what I saw it appeared that he plays LT much better then he does guard. But, like I said, I really need to focus my attention on him when I rewatch the game.

Cam Irving would be a nice draft pick right about now, even if Pouncey is fine. JMO

He got rolled up on the side of his knee while engaged in a block. He got back up and tried to convince ref not to call in trainer. But was too late, ref called injury time out. Pouncey left field on his own without limp as required by rule. His replacement committed a chop block 15 yard penalty in his one replacement play. Pouncey returned on very next play and received no examinations or treatments on sideline.

Thanks. I saw the penalty on gamecenter but I thought he was playing at OG since Thomas was at LT.
