  • Latest and Greatest Mock Draft

here is my latest and greatest mock draft for our Dolphins:

    13: R1P13

    CB MACKENSIE ALEXANDER
    CLEMSON
    42: R2P11
    C JACK ALLEN
    MICHIGAN STATE

    73: R3P10
    OLB Joshu Perry
    Ohio State

    108: R4P9

    OLB JAYLON SMITH
    NOTRE DAME

    148: R5P8
    CB ERIC MURRAY
    MINNESOTA

    187: R6P11
    RB JOSH FERGUSON
    ILLINOIS

    228: R7P6
    DT ANTWAUN WOODS
    SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

    232: R7P10
    QB BRANDON ALLEN
    ARKANSAS

What I did here was addressed our depth chart so we could officially line up. One glaring position that I didnt draft for was DE. I think Dion will come back this year...and provide us with a 3rd round talent.

Mack is self explanatory - everyone here knows my man crush on him

Allen in the 2nd make sense - as we don't have a solid back up C - think Douglas and his low snaps. We can either keep him at C and then move Pouncey to Guard. Guard is our weakest position and placing Poucney and having everyone else battle for the last spot make sense.
Plus - Pouncey salary gets really hard to swallow next year....Allen gives us a cheaper alternative.

Perry - is our starting Mike. Alonso will go SLB and MisI to Weak. We now have a starting MLB that we haven't seen in teal since Karlos Dansby

Smith - is red shirted this year....but Alonso, Perry and Smith next year....come on that looks awesome. Plus if Alonso bolts, we have a back up

Murray - 2nd round talent that broke his ACL. We double down in CB.

Ferguson - I like this kid...he reminds me of a smaller CJ

    Round 7 - simply BPA

In My Opinion - There is a HUGE if on Dion Jordan coming back and I would go so far to say that it's highly unlikely, even though he has a new friend on the team now. Having said that, even if he were to come back I think it would be a mistake to force him to play out of position, again. I don't think he would want to come back if he knew we were going to be forced to play DE again. This draft is DE heavy, and if the Dolphins don't draft one I think they will be regretting that decision for a long time, much like the 2009 draft when there were DE's and LB's for the taking and the Dolphins didn't take any. Pat White was a much better pick then Connor Barwin.

The other area that you avoided was a true guard, which has been high-up on my wish list for a while now. I am not a fan of trying to force players to play new positions. I didn't think Pouncey did that well playing guard and on the other side the front office plans to force Bushrod to play guard, a position that he hasn't played in the NFL other then at practice.

As far as your draft is concerned, I really like the players you selected. We would be set on CB for a while and LB next year. I like the idea of trying to move on from Pouncey. We might even have our future QB too.

Agree... Pouncey won't be gone as our Center soon enough. Would rather trade him...

    A solid draft ...

There are still teams talking about taking Jaylon Smith in the 2nd...

Was Vernon Adams or Jacoby Brissett still there when you took Allen?

Sorry brov, i agree with DF on this one; there's no way we can overlook the Guard position yet again (We're obviously doing just that in FA) and just saying we'll draft a Center & move Pouncey to Guard just doesn't cut it..Hell, Pouncey looked like shit at Guard and with his hip issues we may be looking for a Center as well, so we could take one early...but IMO we better grab a Guard or two, otherwise our 2-3 year rebuild will have to be adjusted to a 3-4 year plan..

The rest of the draft looks pretty strong although i don't think there's any way Jaylon Smith will be there in the 4th round, even with the injury concerns the guy's talent is just too special, someone's gonna take a chance on him earlier on...

And that SOMEONE is going to be a team that has been given a ton of picks..................can you guess which team that is? We don't want THAT to happen. I don't want him in the AFC East unless he is going to play for the Dolphins.........and I don't want the Cowboys to get him either.

    I get it brovs....

the thing is my friend....i doubt we are winning team this year. And I am being honest with you. We just signed two veteran guards....they are going start believe it or not and will be better than THomas and Turner

Next year, we are going to have two 3rd and two 4th....I think that is when we will get our Guards...we can line up right now with Udrick and that kid from the bears.

Where is our age right now...was my consideration when i drafted....we are heavy in D.

The draft is very D centric

We have upgraded our CB to align..after 2017- we can release Maxwell...and be solid with Murray and Mack...M2

our LB group is set for the next 5 years (assuming we re-sign Alonso) with Perry, Alonso and Smith
    That' right there is awesome....

Next year we focus on building our DE with our first overall selection to replace Wake and Mario

Gotcha! Yeah, i don't think there's any way we're gonna be competitive this year either, so i get it..There's just no way to fill all of our holes in one offseason..

Btw, the guy from the Bills is just average (Still, i guess that puts him way ahead of DT) & Bushrod is a Tackle who we plan on sticking at Guard, so basically we're gonna be once again pissing up a rope (Tannehill will once again be pissing blood) & saying wait 'til next year..or the year after...

to be honest brov....do you honestly think Tanny will be our QB in 2018?

Unless he kills is this year...and that is asking a lot, with no run game and no OL

All he has is pro ball WR...which is better than what Brady had last year

You're asking the wrong brov, brov! I am not a Ryan Tannehill fan at all so unless he transforms into something i don't think he has the ability to, i would hope we finally realize he's not our QB of the future..BUT we are talking about the Miami Dolphins here, so who knows??!!!....

I'm looking forward to the season already! WIth relaxed expectations. I was 100% thinking we would be in the playoffs this past year...along with everyone i think.

I am just hoping for competitive games...with a new coach, I'll give it another 3 years before I ask for performance.

I have my doubts about RT....and to be honest, I don't know what to think. Can he be a QB we are proud of? No idea...I'm hoping that we see progress...but he needs a run game and more importantly protection.

Then let's judge him. But it has to speak to his skill set....he's a great QB only if you have everything laid out for him...that is a cause for concern...Russ Wilson didnt have an Oline or Beast mode...Brady had no one.....both at least put up points for their to team to have a chance...that is all we need from RT...just give us a chance....
