  • Fins working out Connor Cook

Not a big fan of RT and want us to draft a QB......but as bad as our planning is for FA........yikes I don't know how to figures it out. Cook will go 1 or 2nd round because QB's do. So how to make a viable team and or draft? Say you draft Cook. How does he get playing time from RT or Moore? So we spend a 1 or 2 on a position of the future not the present?

    Another headache figuring this out

We would probably have to use our 2nd round pick if we wanted him although its possible he might not even be available then. I think the Broncos should take him at #31 but they might make a trade for another QB.

I think I know deep down that RT is never going to be the answer but its just so hard to justify drafting a QB that high when we have so many other needs. My biggest concerns with Cook are that he was not an elite QB in college and he has a low completion %, 58 and 56 respectively the past couple seasons. I just worry that he might be another RT.

I also don't see Cook as a successful QB in the NFL. Reminds me of Ryan Mallet only shorter.

I would love it if the Dolphins drafted Connor Cook! If given the chance he could push Tannehill, unlike the other QB's that they have on the roster. Tannehill fans like to make excuses for him for all his shortcomings, so I will make one for Cook. If you have ever watched Cook play, you would have noticed that his receivers DROP many passes that are right on the money. It happened in the game against Bama and their top ranked defense and it happened during the season as well. If Gase is as advertised I believe he can coach-up Cook, who has a much higher ceiling then Tannehill can dream of having.

It's never going to happen but I would love this draft pick if the Dolphins had the guts to do it.

I am concerned about that as well. This is a new coaching staff so I have hope that they actually know how to build and coach an offensive line. Who knows, they might actually pick up a full back, they might use tight ends to help the o-line, they might actually draft a guard or two, they could even put a tackle into the lineup to play Tight End to help with the blocking. There are many things to do to help a poor offensive line. I hope that the coaching staff figures out how to do this since Tannenbaum and Co didn't address the guard position in free agency even though MANY were available. Yes, they wanted to be paid but who doesn't ? When you have the worst offensive line in the league and you have only been to the playoffs once in a decade, have a revolving door in your front office, can you really afford to be picky?

We've worked out draft eligible QBs each off-season prior to the draft. We worked out Garrett Grayson last year, who I really liked.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is also the FO getting more info on Jack Conklin, or trying to generate interest from other teams to offer us something in the way of a trade from a team wanting to trade up in the 1st or 2nd round.

My two cents on QB's are worth absolutely nothing (Well, maybe two cents...) I loved Matt Barkley (remember him??) & Landry Jones and was also a fan of Tannehill at A&M, lol...

Doesn't matter who we have or draft at QB as long as the OL is the shit show it's continually been when Philbin was here... hoping they finally show some real improvement under Gase.

The offensive line was a mess prior to Philbin coming to Miami. I think in their best year with Sparano they ranked 22nd or something like that. The o-line has been a disaster for a while now. I was hoping that a new coaching staff would FINALLY fix this dumpster fire but so far they are just dumping gas into the already burning dumpster. Why sign guards when they can try and force current players to play out of position?
