  • Patriots trade for martellus bennett

The Dolphins better sign/draft some linebackers who can cover. They need to focus on improving that defensive backfield !

Wow,, Gronk & Martellus!!! That's both impressive & depressing,, i think we've all kind of forgotten how good their O was with two killer TE's (Gronk & Hernandez) making plays all over the field..

The Pats aren't resting on their laurels, well aware that Brady can't be abused like he was this past season they traded their stud pass-rusher for a stud Guard & a 2nd rounder, then they immediately signed Chris Long to ease somewhat the loss of Chandler Jones..All the while, we sit on our asses & think 'hey, maybe our Guards weren't as bad as they looked!'..The chasm between us & the Pats just grew oh so much bigger!

Yes... they go out of their way to protect Brady, the Raiders go out of their way to protect Carr. We put Tannehill in a race car with Mario Andretti and have him dodging race cars at 200 MPH...

We should sign Zach Miller. He had a good year in Gases's offense last year. He is more of a receiving threat than Sims is. Also he should be cheap on a one year deal.

Don't know if I'd call Cooper a stud lineman, he's been a disappointment with the Cards. And Long has missed more games in the last two years than he's played.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

I agree that Cooper hasn't met the expectations he had coming out (there were several of us here who wanted him) but any decent OLineman has to be a big upgrade to what Brady had protecting him at the end of last year..As far as Long goes, i understand he doesn't replace Chandler Jones, those are some HUGE shoes to fill, but at least they seem to recognize where they have needs and look to fill them..Not like us and our Guard situation...

The sad part is even though the Pats aren't making stellar moves (Besides Bennett that is), their moves are still better than ours.

True, true...But we all thought they were gonna fall apart when they lost Revis & most of their starting secondary,, but somehow, someway they just keep on keeping on...

Brady is going to Kill the Fins. Pats showing how it is done. But hey the Fins can beat last years Fins team! Does that count in the standings? I can't say the names of our FO without getting banned

If I'm not mistaken we split with the Pat's the last two years, they are not the team to worry about. We can't beat the bills or the jets. We can't match their physicality. Hell even Tannehill threw for 350 yards against the Pat's and 2 TD passes in season finale. We have to at least split the division games with bills jets Pat's to have a chance next year.

Did the Dolphins split with the Patriots when they had Gronk and Hernandez on the field? I wouldn't brag about splittng with the Patriots last season. They were severely beaten up prior to the game. I think it was the Jets who hobbled Brady in the game before the Dolphins played them, and the entire o-line and almost the entire team was all beaten up. I would brag about the Wildcat victory before bragging about last years team winning any games. JMO

Yes... hopefully both the pats and bills defenses are weaker now. Ours is already looking stronger. The jets aren't going anywhere.

"killer TE's" in Hernandez's case ended up being both figurative AND literal...

No disrespect intended Zonk, but i think you might be kidding yourself here..While it's true we've had decent recent success against the Pats, even if we swept the Bills & Jets (Recent history says that ain't happening!) that would give us 5 wins with a N.E. split..By my math we'd still have to come up with about 7 or 8 more wins to be division title contenders, as the Pats tend to win 12 -14 games pretty much every year..

New England always seems to find a way to get enough done to win the division, now whether it's within league rules is a whole 'nother matter...
