The Dolphins couldn’t land C.J. Anderson, so they moved down to the next name on their running back list.According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Dolphins have Cardinals free agent Chris Johnson in for a visit today.Johnson was a solid addition for the Cardinals last year, rushing for 814 yards in 11 games there. And [more]

It makes perfect sense to me. He broke his leg at the end of last season, so why wouldn't they bring him in? All kidding aside, I had him on my fantasy team last year so I watched him closely and he was reborn in Arizona. As a complimentary running back Johnson could be a good pick up. A change of pace RB that can work together with Ajayi to wear down defenses."If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." - George S. Patton

The media is so transparent with their hatred of the Dolphins. When the Cardinals signed Chris Johnson last year nobody said a negative word. It was a smart move, even though they had a young running back who they were supposed to use as their workhorse. BUT, when the Dolphins just bring in that same running back the following year they are "chasing an aging veteran" and the move is in clear desperation.
Chris Johnson ran for over 800 yards in 11 games last season, averaging 4.2 yards a carry.
Plan A - The best play for the Dolphins with a giant pat on the back (16 games - 872 yards rushing - 8 touchdowns - 4.5 yards per carry)
Plan B - The Dolphins second choice partly because the new head coach is familiar with him, and a media pat on the back too. ( 15 games - 720 rushing yards - 5 touchdowns - 4.7 yards per carry)
Plan C - The media is making fun of this move because of Johnson's age, even though he played really well last season. They claim he ran out of gas before breaking his leg.
( 11 games - 814 yards rushing - 3 touchdowns - 4.2 yards per carry )
Obviously not a young teams first choice but not as bad as the media is trying to make it out to be."If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." - George S. Patton

Yes... I commented on this when Miller and OV left - guys who were considered JAGs here by the media are suddenly the second coming of Jim Brown and Lawrence Taylor going to their new teams.
CJ probably doesn't have 4.24 speed anymore, but he's not Daniel Thomas plodding for 3.3 ypc either.
The pats get fellated for these sort of moves every season by the same talking heads dogging us.

The talking heads said we overpaid for Suh last offseason. Suh and JJ Watt are the two best d-line players in the league. OV? Ummmmm......everyone should be talking about how the Giants overpaid for him this offseason more so then they did the Dolphins last season. The OV signing is one of the worst signing in YEARS.

Have to consider the surrounding cast and OL as well. He probably only faced an eight man box but rarely with the Cards given how dynamic their passing game was until Palmer got hurt.
CJ sucked with the jets a few couple seasons ago as well. I see him as an insurance policy behind Ajayi...
If nothing else, we'd have the ugliest trio of RBs in the league. lol...

I agree that you do have to consider WHO Johnson played for last season and give that team credit for his success. Will he have that same kind of success playing in a dink and dunk offense, as opposed to a high-flying passing offense, with a front office who never addresses the offense line? I would have to say, this teams needs Adrrian Peterson or someone of that caliber if they plan to dink and dunk behind a terrible offensive line. Chris Johnson will do just as good of a job as most."If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." - George S. Patton

Good thing they haven't wasted any money or time with a Guard yet. Dallas Thomas + Billy Turner.....Championship!

AHA!................I just don't understand these non-moves. I heard rumblings that they were thinking of moving Bushrod inside to play guard and possibly moving James inside to play Right Guard and then draft a Right Tackle. That would put Albert, Bushrod, Pouncey, James and new Right Tackle as our starting offensive line. IF they can stay healthy, that might just be a good o-line.

Bushrod plays all positions on the OL. He's the Swing Tackle, Swing Guard, Swing Center, TE and FB... just as soon as he's recovered from having his arm sewn back on... the torn labrum.
He should be GTG to use his arm by July and ready for the season by Oct/Nov... Just in time for Albert to go down... lol...

CJ on a one year vets minimum deal wouldn't be bad. he played well for the cardinals last year before he got injured. he would be a good #2 change of pace back who could get about 8 carries per game.
